: Well the casual AMD-65 (which is a RARE gun) is interesting, but not proof of the fallacy of that statement. We have pre-86 AMD-65s in inventory, but those that didn't make the cut off date, had to be registered as Post 86 samples. Ultimately it's simple enough to register a converted TEC-DC9 as a post 86 sample, but no one does it because there are so many Pre-86 TEC-9s in the chain of commerce of the movie industry.
