The following guns were used in the movie The Matrix

File:The Matrix Poster.jpg
The Matrix (1999)

GE M134 Minigun

Neo (Keanu Reeves) opens up a 6 barreled 7.62x51mm GE M134 Minigun in a door mounting on a Bell 212 helicopter while rescuing Morpheus.

Desert Eagle

The Agents, including Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving), are always armed with Desert Eagles, chambered in .50 Action Express. In one scene, Agent Smith shoots Neo in the chest with his Desert Eagle approximately a dozen times without reloading, despite this version of the Desert Eagle only having a 7-round magazine. This is only possible because Smith is a program, and therefore has special system privileges, i.e. unlimited ammunition. However, Smith runs out of bullets once in the first movie (during the subway fight scene).

Beretta M84F Cheetah

Closing out the opening shot Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) unleashes twin Beretta Cheetahs on the assembled police and agents as she makes her escape. While rescuing Morpheus, Trinity kills an Agent with her Beretta M84 Cheetah, managing to get close enough for a point-blank shot to the head which the Agent was unable to dodge.

CZ99

Apoc gives Neo (Keanu Reeves) his Zastava CZ99 pistol as they try and escape an Agent-led SWAT attack after visiting the Oracle. The weapon is a CZ99 and not, as has been written previously, a SIG P228; some of the weapons rental invoice documents published on Propstore.com have confirmed this. The CZ99 is a Serbian-made pistol which is based on the P220 series, but is actually a very different weapon.

Beretta 92FS

Neo can be seen with a pair of Beretta M92FS pistols during the mission to rescue Morpheus. In one scene he attempts to engage an Agent with them, emptying the magazines of both pistols to no effect. He later uses one in a duel with Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving), but is unable to score a single hit, finally managing to get the barrel of his gun against Smith's head, only to be out of ammo as Smith mockingly points out.

M16

In the lobby scene the backup guards are armed with M16 rifles (the weapons lack the forward assist, which means they are very early pre-1967 M16s) and SPAS 12 shotguns. The M16s that were used in this scene were a mixture of rifle with the 3-prong flash hider and rifles with the M16A1 flash hider. Neo commandeers this weapon twice: First during the lobby scene, and again while fighting another group of guards on the roof of the building.

Micro Uzi

In the lobby scene Neo and Trinity both fire Micro Uzis, Trinity using one to kill one of the first guards Neo missed during his initial barrage.

Cobray M11/9

Apoc (Julian Arahanga) carries a Cobray M11/9 converted to full-auto with a thread protector, and is famously seen firing it to lay down cover fire while he and the others are fleeing from the SWAT team (you can tell it's a Cobray M11/9 and not an original Ingram MAC-10 because the back of the receiver is elongated).

Heckler & Koch MP5K

Mouse's Shotguns

Mouse (Matt Doran)'s pair of shotguns are custom-built cam-operated electric drive automatic 12-gauge shotguns with 25-shell cylinders and a fire rate of 900 rounds per minute. They were crafted by John Bowring, lead armorer of the film. As an inside joke Bowring named the guns "Andy" (serial no. A1169 - Leetspeak for Andy) and "Larry" (serial no. L2779 - Leetspeak for Larry) after the Wachowski brothers.

Franchi SPAS 12

In the lobby scene the backup guards are armed with M16 rifles and SPAS 12 shotguns, some of which are commandeered and used against their original users by Trinity and Neo. The versions used by the guards have a solid fixed stock/pistol grip combination, similar to that available on the Benelli M3 Super 90.

Australian Automatic Arms Leader T2 MK5

The SWAT team that breaks into the apartment building during the "deja vu" scene are armed with Australian Automatic Arms Leader T2 MK5 assault rifles (the Semi automatic version known as the SAC). (although the weapons are never shown clearly on screen, this has been confirmed by the rental invoices from Propstore, which also has one of the rubber AAA carbines on sale). The Leader is loosely based on the Armalite AR-18 and was planned to be the next service rifle of the Australian Army, but the rifle lost out to the Steyr AUG during the Australian Army's service rifle trials. The versions used in The Matrix are the "Commando" version which have 11.5-inch barrels; the weapons are also fitted with large tactical flashlights and laser sights.

Skorpion SA Vz 61

Neo fires a pair of Skorpion SA Vz 61s fitted with muzzle shrouds in the lobby scene. His spent shell casings are incorrectly shown as 5.56mm and ejecting towards the ground, in reality the Skorpion SA was never chambered in a round so large and the spent casings would be ejected up and to his right. In some other shots, the actual shells of the Skorpion can be seen ejecting as well.

Browning Hi-Power

Switch (Belinda McClory) is seen carrying a chrome-plated Browning Hi-Power pistol as her weapon of choice, first holding Neo at gunpoint with it while Trinity removes the 'bug' the Agents planted in him, then using it to lay down cover fire along with Apoc while the others escaped the SWAT team, taking out several SWAT members in the process.
