I'm thinking popssibly a Benelli M3:

Could also be a Remington 1100:
<strike>I'm thinking it might be a stainless Colt Detective Special (minus the pearl grips obviously)?? Thoughts?</strike>

Looks like it exactly. You can see the same logo in the second screencap.Mr.Ice 17:31, 10 June 2012 (CDT)
:I don't think it is, it looks generally large to be a detective special (particularly the grip). Also, the cylinder release looks like a different design, more like a S&W, being located below the center of the cylinder as opposed to on Colt revolvers where it is level with the axis of the cylinder. Also, the barrel looks too short relative to the frame.  --commando552 17:41, 10 June 2012 (CDT)

Rock Island Armory 1911?

I know I may have recently identified the Unknown 1911 as a Rock Island Armory 1911 but Ive been having some doubts. After checking out the M1911 pistol series page I found that the only close matches were:

Why can't it be a standard Colt M1911A1 / Colt Government / Colt MK IV Series 70 (they are all pretty much the same gun)? I would rule out the gold cup national match and sereis 80 as I would say the gun in question has the standard old iron sights. Without a better view showing details like the shape of the mainspring housing (I think it is rounded so would rule out all of the above guns but not certain) and whether it has a grip safety (and if so what shape) there is no way to narrow it down, but I would probably just say it is a Colt M1911A1. --commando552 15:52, 10 June 2012 (CDT)
