The Liberation of Prague is Czechoslovak war film from the period of the Prague uprising directed by Otakar Vávra in 1978. The film has no central hero and as a continuation to the previous of Vávra´s movie titled Sokolovo, stand out in it also the characters from the film - Anka Kadlecová (Renáta Doleželová) and Karel Horák (Jirí Krampol). The film was made for the propaganda of a 30th anniversary of the liberation by the Red Army. In a cinema, however, came with a delay. Therefore, the German actor who played the commander of the SS troops in Bohemia and Moravia Horst Preusker died before its premiere.
