Gangster Squad (2012)

Gangster Squad is a 2012 film, about 'unauthorized' efforts by a special task force of the LAPD in 1949 to deal with an influx of organized crime. The so called "Gangster Squad" have an unusually wide latitude in their authority when dealing with mobsters, many times conducting themselves in manners outside of the law.

The Following guns were used in the film:

Handguns

M1911A1

Gangster Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) wields an M1911A1 throughout the film.

M1A1

Being a post WW2 film (the events take place in 1949) we see ex military M1A1 Thompsons mixed in with the M1928 style submachine guns. Some of the M1A1 Thompsons have the straight foregrip (as they appeared in the Army) and some of them have the older style forward pistol grip remeniscient of the M1928 guns.
