The following weapons were used in the film Red Scorpion:
Rifles
AO-63 assault rifle (mocked up FN FAL)
The prominent weapon used by Nikolai Rachenko (Dolph Lundgren) is in reality an FN FAL mocked up to resemble the Russian Avtomat AO-63 assault rifle. The FN FAL rifle has the muzzle modded to imitate twin barrels of the AO-63. The magazine also has its front slightly extended to form a foregrip. This can be seen if you click here at 01:45 seconds. Not to forget it is seen tested by Colonel Zayas (Carmen Argenziano) on the rifle range impressed by its performance. The filmmakers have also modified this gun with a Lewis gun's drum magazine and the pistol grip from an SS-77 general purpose machine gun. Although not related to the AO-63 but a Two barrel FN FAL does exist that was made by Winchester/Olin for US Army trials.
AK-47
AKM
Seen in the hands of Soviet troops, Cuban troops, the African rebels, and Nikolai Rachenko (Dolph Lundgren) (who's seen armed with a bayonet fixed AKM rifle) throughout the film.
AMD-65
The AMD-65 rifle is used by vRachenko to shoot up a bar. The rifle is also seen used by various Russian troops/guerrillas and by Dewey Ferguson (M. Emmet Walsh).

Mossberg 500 shotguns with extended mag tubes are used by the Russian Military Policemen and Dewey Ferguson (M. Emmet Walsh) during the road chase. The shotguns were also used by Nikolai and the African guerrillas later in the film.
Machine Guns
M1919A4 machine gun
A Browning M1919A4 machine gun is seen mounted on a Ratel Infantry Fighting Vehicle vehicle.
FN MAG
An FN MAG machine gun is seen mounted on the armored vehicle during the road chase, and also on the motorcycle and sidecar being ridden by Cuban troops.
RPK
An RPK is used by various Cuban troops and by Lt. Nikolai Rachenko (Dolph Lundgren) when he is ambushed in the field.

SA-7 Grail
An SA-7 Grail launcher is also used.

Unknown Magnetic Grenade
Just after the road chase when the truck crashes, Nikolai Rachenko(Dolph Lundgren) places a Magnetic Grenade onto the trucks fuel tank.
Trivia
- Many of the 'Soviet' vehicles were on loan from the S.A.D.F.(South African Defense Forces).
- The movie was funded by the anti-communist S.A.D.F. with the foundation ran by co-producer and future Washington DC lobbyist Jack Abramoff, who later would gain notoriety for being implicated in a scandal involving the bribery of US government officials.
- Screenshots to be added
- The 'Mil Mi-24 Hind' seen in the movie is mocked up from a Sikorsky S-62. The same modified helicopter can be seen in Braddock: Missing In Action 3 and Bulletproof (1988). (albeit less convincingly modified).
