The Shield was a television police drama created by Shawn Ryan (The Unit) that starred Michael Chiklis as Vic Mackey, a Los Angeles police detective who played both sides of the law as the leader of a police strike team that also had its hands in several illegal operations throughout the city. Benito Martinez co-starred as the police lieutenant intent on bringing Mackey to justice while being the commanding officer of the police station they both work out of. The series ran for seven seasons on the FX cable network.

Smith & Wesson 4506-1
Detective Vic Mackey (Michael Chiklis) carries a Smith & Wesson 4506-1 .45ACP pistol as his chief sidearm throughout the series.
Smith & Wesson Model 640 Centennial
Detective Vic Mackey also carries a snub-nosed Smith & Wesson Model 640 Centennial as a backup weapon, notably in Season 3's premiere "Playing Tight".

A teenager is seen carrying a Jericho 941 when Vic and Shane arrest him in the Season 1 episode "Circles".

A .357 Desert Eagle is used by Vic for the rest of Season 7 after he quits the force. He claims to carry it on a "cross draw" holster. He is notably seen taking it out of his desk drawer and putting it in his waistband in the final scene of the series.
