The Viral Factor is a 2012 action movie directed by Dante Lam. Jay Chou and Nicholas Tse star as two long-lost brothers, on opposites sides of the law, who reunite to stop a group of criminals from releasing a deadly strain of smallpox.
The following weapons are seen in The Viral Factor:
A Walther P99 is carried by International Security Affairs (ISA) agent Jon Man (Jay Chou) in Jordan. Corrupt ISA agent Russell (Philip Keung) uses a P99 while chasing Jon and his brother Man Keung (Nicholas Tse) in Kuala Lumpur.
The Glock 17 is the most frequently seen weapon in the film, and is used by various points by Jon Man (Jay Chou), his brother Man Yeung (Nicholas Tse), various ISA agents, henchmen and Malaysian Polis officers.
A Glock 17 converted to fully automatic fire and with a 33 round magazine is used by Jon's partner Ross (Carl Ng) when their team is attacked during a mission in Jordan. A henchman is later seen wielding one in Kuala Lumpur when battling ISA agents.
Man Keung is seen using a Smith & Wesson Model 36 during a flashback sequence. Jon also uses the Model 36 in the finale after retrieving it from a dead henchman.
Ice uses a Heckler & Koch MP5K with a PDW-style stock accessory rails and a red-dot sight in Jordan. Jon later uses a MP5K in the finale when he battles Wong's thugs aboard a cargo ship.
Heckler & Koch MP5A3 submachine guns with Surefire weapon lights are used by Jordanian police commandos when they raid a terrorist hideout. A Royal Malaysian Navy boarding team also uses MP5A3s when searching a freighter contaminated with smallpox, as do ISA agents. A thug in the finale uses a MP5A3 without any attachments.
Jon uses what appears to be a custom Colt M4 variant in Jordan. The rifle has a long railed handguard coupled with a short barrel and a Vltor Modstock, Aimpoint sight , a laser aiming module and fitted XM16E1-style lower receiver .
Royal Malaysian Navy commandos use M4A1 carbines while searching a smallpox-contaminated freighter. Later, ISA agents use M4A1 carbines when they raid Sean Wong's hideout. Wong himself uses an unmodified M4A1 in the finale while searching for Yeung and Jon.
Sean Wong and several of his henchmen use RGD-5 hand grenades to fend off ISA agents when their hideout is raided. Jon later uses one to rescue Dr. Rachel Kan (Peng Lin).
