UCP is the ''pattern'', ACU stands for "Army Combat Uniform". Calling the pattern ACU is like calling a wheel "tire", or a wall "paint", or a tree "bark". Of course the rest of us call it by it's more used name "ACU". I think only the DOD calls it the "Universal Camouflage Pattern" LOL MoviePropMaster2008
