The Colt M1911A1 is the main sidearm for the United States Army faction in-game, as well as appearing on occasion as a back-up weapon for British Antitank Infantry. Unlike in the original Battlefield 3, pistols and revolvers are only issued to Non-Comissioned Officers, Support Gunners, Snipers and Antitank Infantry.

Webley & Scott MkIII
The Webley & Scott MkIII flare pistol is issued to New Zealand LRDG Commandos in Operation Hyacinth. It fires a dull flare on a well-lit map and is no use against enemy soldiers, making it practically useless except as scenery.

Karabiner 98k
The Karabiner 98k is the standard-issue firearm for German troops in-game. It is worth noting that the model used by the Fallschirmjäger in Greece and the Afrika Korps in North Africa uses a v-shaped iron  sight, in contrast to the ringed sights used by German troops in France and Belgium. A sniper model of the Karabiner 98k, fitted with a Zeiss ZF42 optic, can be picked up by German and Italian soldiers. Another variant uses a ZF 41 1.5x magnification scope. It can be fitted with a bayonet or rifle grenade launcher.

Machine Guns
Browning Automatic Rifle
The Browning Automatic Rifle is the main weapon of the support class in-game. It can be fired standing and from the hip, which reduces accuracy, or in prone position with the bipod deployed, which increases it. Amusingly, in one of the maps, Ramelle-Neuville, (a reference to Saving Private Ryan), the B.A.R bipod has been removed and the gun converted to the ability to fire at either the default 450 rpm or 600 rpm, a homage to Reiben's (Edward Burns) B.A.R in the film, which was sans bipod and fired at maximum RPM.

It can also be found in MG nests, and pintle mounted on M4 Sherman Tank variants, the M5A1 Stuart (also turret-mounted) and the M8 Greyhound Armoured Car.

Bren Mk1
The Bren Mk1 is the main weapon of the Commonwealth Support class. It fires from either a standing position or the prone position with the bipod deployed, and can fire in either semi or full-automatic. It is also mounted in an Anti-Aircraft position, on Bren carriers, and the Daimler Diago Armoured Car used by LRDG (Long Range Desert Group) units.

It is also mounted on Chevy 30WCT jeeps alongside the Vickers Mk1, and on LCA (Landing Craft, Assault) transports in the Pointe-du-Hoc map.

ZB26 Machine Gun
The ZB26 Machine Gun is carried by German soldiers on Pointe-du-Hoc. This is historically accurate, as the Wehrmacht was so impressed by the Czech machine gun they adopted it under the designation of MG26(t). It fires in either semi or full-automatic and can be deployed on a bipod.

MG34
The MG34 is carried by German Machine Gunners pre-1944, when it is replaced by the MG42. Afterwards it still makes an appearance, mounted on Lafette tripods or pintle/turret-mounted on numerous German vehicles. The portable variant has to be deployed to fire.
