Sorry, but making categories are reserved for such things as directors and film genres.  A better solution is to perhaps create a table like the ones seen on actor pages.  I would recommend doing this in the discussion section of the James Bond page.  --Ben41 23:47, 14 February 2012 (CST)

If you need help taking screenshots, please let me know. Like I said, check out Ben41's page. Both programs, VLC and Fast Stone Image Viewer are free for download. Even if you're on a business or school computer, both programs are available in portable form. You said that Archangel is on Netflix, so you'll be using Fast Stone Image Viewer. If you have any questions, please ask. --Funkychinaman 07:15, 26 February 2012 (CST)

Revision as of 13:15, 26 February 2012

The HISHE website is not allowed as we don't allow webshows. We only allow movies, television shows, video games, anime, and any other animated series where 99% of the guns can have a positive ID. Plus most of the guns in the show looked like rectangles with triggers. User:1morey September 25, 2011 4:57 PM (EST)

Ok sorry. I just thought I would add it because it deals with movies and videogames.

Adding comments

Please refer to the Rules, Standards and Principles page regarding adding commentary to movie pages. Commentary regarding plot and vaguely firearms-related should be kept at a minimum. --Ben41 19:29, 25 September 2011 (CDT)

k sorry. I'm new to imfdb. i'm learning as i go

To get you started, you use correct grammar when you edit on a page and reply on people's talk page, not yours as we might not know that you replied. To sign your comment, observe the image below - Kenny99 19:55, 25 September 2011 (CDT).

Also post at the BOTTOM of discussion pages....because that is how it works.
Yes. You are on the right track by the way. - Kenny99 21:05, 26 September 2011 (CDT)
Please do not add commentary critiquing actors' gun handling either (as you did on the U.S. Marshals page) - it is beyond the scope of IMFDB and we no longer allow it. -MT2008 15:52, 18 October 2011 (CDT)
Yes, I'm sure. Myself and the other admins discussed it a while back, but there are a lot of pages which have gun handling comments that haven't been changed. Sorry about that, but it's a rule. -MT2008 20:05, 18 October 2011 (CDT)

The Bourne Conspiracy

Do you planning on coming back to finish this page? Right now, there are no pictures of the weapons used or screenshots from the game. In the condition it is now, it will be soon be slated for deletion. --Ben41 23:39, 28 September 2011 (CDT)

Getting started

I just looked at the code of existing pages and cut and paste a lot. Video games, especially console games, tend to be a pretty tough way to start, since they're more complex to screencap. --Funkychinaman 17:36, 29 September 2011 (CDT)

Take a look at Ben's page, he's the expert and has a nice write-up. Capping movies is easier because all you need is the movie and a free program. Capping console games is harder because you need to buy hardware. If you look around, you'll see very few console-only games that are capped. --Funkychinaman 17:58, 29 September 2011 (CDT)

Adding Comments Part 2

Once again, take a look at the Rules and Standards page, namely the section regarding insulting or sarcastic commentary. --Ben41 20:43, 14 November 2011 (CST)

Adding Comments Part 3 and making pages

In response to your questions:

1. On the Licence to Kill page, when an admin does a rollback on edit, all of the previous user's edits are reverted back.

2. Before creating a page, it's best to have at least some gun images ready if you can't have the screenshots yet. If you're coming back to work on the page like Archangel or the Bourne Conspiracy, you need to place a workinprogress banner at the top of the page to let others know that the page isn't done yet. Right now, that page is not up to the minimum standards because there are no gun images underneath the weapons identified and at least a poster or DVD cover could be put up. The Bourne Conspiracy was deleted because there was no work on this for quite some time and there was no indication that anyone was coming back to it. It can be restored only if you have screenshots ready.

If you're having trouble getting screenshots, you may want to check my user page to see how I capture screenshots.

Also, please STOP adding comments to pages (especially James Bond pages) that are only plot-related and have little to do with firearms. A lot of users are getting tired of having to change back a lot of your comments. --Ben41 17:39, 18 November 2011 (CST)

Se7en

You were correct in keeping the actor's name off the film page as it does reveal the major spoiler of the killer's identity. --Ben41 12:42, 24 December 2011 (CST)

Creating Category

Sorry, but making categories are reserved for such things as directors and film genres. A better solution is to perhaps create a table like the ones seen on actor pages. I would recommend doing this in the discussion section of the James Bond page. --Ben41 23:47, 14 February 2012 (CST)
