Assault Rifles

Batou's Rifle

During the film's finale, Batou uses a fictional assault rifle. This weapon is something of a conglomeration of various designs; the stock, charging handle and receiver all appear to be borrowed from the SIG SG 510, while the barrel, gas tube and forearm draw from the IMI Galil ARM The bipod is attached next to the chamber (similar to a Galatz Rifle, instead of the gas offtake (like a standard Galil)). This arrangement causes the weapon aesthetically resemble a "squished" Galil. The rifle also features a heat shield over the barrel, and the size of the magazines suggests that is is chambered for 7.62x51mm (both the dialogue and the director's commentary describe it as being a ".30 cal."). Also, it bears resemblance to Stoner M63 machine gun.

Shotguns

Semi Auto Shotgun

In the opening sequence of the film, Batou uses a semi automatic shotgun with a heat shield added to the barrel to stop a homicidal and "suicidal" love doll. He also has the shotgun with him in the final scene. This particular shotgun doesn't seem to match a real world firearm exactly, but it does come very close to the Norinco SAS. The receiver of the gun also mirrors the look of the pump action Valtro.
