The Border was a Canadian-produced drama series about the agents of the fictional Immigration and Customs Security agency who were tasked with investigating various threats and crimes that occurred along Canada’s borders. The series aired for three seasons from 2008 to 2010 on CBC Television, as well as in syndication in other countries.
The following weapons can be seen in the television series The Border
A stainless Beretta 84FS "Cheetah" was Sergeant Layla Hourani’s sidearm in the show’s pilot. Suspected terrorist Tariq Haddad (Anousha Alamian) takes Hourani’s Beretta and holds her hostage with it during a standoff at Toronto Pearson Airport.
Beretta 92FS
The Beretta 92FS is commonly used by antagonists throughout the series.
Taurus PT92AFS
MI6 agent Charlotte Bates (Daisy Beaumont) assembles a stainless Taurus PT92 with a suppressor in S02E03, “Floral Tribute”, using it to assassinate a Nigerian drug dealer.
Beretta 92FS Inox
Bates uses the similar Beretta 92FS Inox in the Season 3 premiere, “The Dead”, when confronting ‘Ndrangheta mafia boss Adriano Frantangelo. Chinese MSS agents are armed with the 92FS Inox while searching for a defector in S03E06, "Kiss and Cry".
Colt M1911A1
A Chinese human smuggler uses a M1911A1 pistol in S01E05, "Physical Assets". Layla confiscates one from a Toronto hotel room after ETF operators have secured the place.
Glock 17
Glock 17 pistols are used by Department of Homeland Security agents Bianca LaGuarda (Sofia Milos) and Liz Carver (Grace Park), as well as by most of the local police departments that assist ICS. Glock 17s are also used by some antagonists, including a domestic terrorist in S01E08 “Enemy Contact”, and African drug traffickers in S02E03, “Floral Tribute”.
Glock 17L
Agent Darnell Williams (Jim Codrington) uses what appears to be a Glock 17L pistol when rescuing Major Mike Kessler (James McGowan) in S03E05, "Missing Action".
Glock 19
A Glock 19 pistol is used by Sudanese refugee Ali (Isiah Grant) in S01E07, “Family Affairs”. Gray also seizes a Glock 19 in S03E04, “Hate Metal” and uses it while searching for the leader of a white supremacist group.
Makarov PM
A Taliban leader in S03E05 "Missing in Action", is armed with a Makarov PM.
FBI agents and Surete Du Quebec officers in S02E04, “Nothing to Declare”, are armed with SIG-Sauer P226 pistols when they apprehend a pair of bikers working as hitmen on the Vermont/Quebec border. Kessler's former JTF2 comrade (Dwight McPhee) also cocks a P226 when helping to protect some witnesses in S01E13, "Blowback".
Gray and Layla use Heckler & Koch MP5K submachine guns while searching for Al-Qaeda detainees who escaped from a rendition flight in Northern Quebec during S01E03 "Bodies on the Ground". MP5Ks are also seen in the ICS armory while agents are preparing for a sweep for illegal immigrants in Toronto.
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
The MP5A3 is seen in several configurations throughout the series. During season 1, MP5A3s with slimline forearms are used by Albanian gangsters in S01E02 "Gray Zone" and JTF-2 commandos in "Bodies on the Ground". From Season 2 onwards, all of the MP5A3s are seen with Navy trigger groups and are most notably used by 'Ndragheta mobsters in the Season 2 finale "Going Dark". Modified MP5A3s with RIS forearms and suppressors are used by MS-13 gangsters who attempt to kill a witness hiding in a refugee settlement centre during the Season 3 finale "No Refuge".
Assault Rifles
Colt Canada C7A1 rifle
In flashback sequences during the Season 1 finale "Blowback", Kessler and other JTF2 commandos are armed with C7A1 rifles while investigating a massacre in Bosnia. A C7A1 is also seen next to a dead Croatian paramilitary soldier, and Kessler explicitly mentions that Croatian forces engaged in ethnic cleansing were armed with "Colt Canada C7A1" rifles that had been covertly supplied by CSIS.
Colt Canada C8A1 Carbine
Gunmen during S01E04, "Gross Deceptions", use C8A1 carbines when seizing a Canadian military shipment of anti-tank weapons. C8 carbines are also used by the Canadian soldiers who rescue Kessler and DHS agent Henry Massoud (Ennis Esmer) at the conclusion of S03E05, "Missing in Action".
M4A1 Carbine
M4A1 carbines are used by many SWAT units throughout the series, including FBI agents in S01E12 "Grave Concern" and Toronto ETF officers in S03E01 "The Dead". U.S Army soldiers in the Season 2 premiere "Stop-Loss", and private military contractors in S02E09 "Good Intentions" and the Season 2 finale "Going Dark" also are armed with M4A1s.
AK-47 (Airsoft)
Airsoft AK-47s are seen in the hands of Iraqi insurgents in S02E01 "Stop-Loss", as well as Afghan kidnappers and Taliban militants in S03E05 "Missing in Action".
Norinco Type 56
A young Al-Qaeda escapee from a crashed American rendition flight uses a Norinco Type 56 with a thermal sight (in reality an AN/PVS-14 night sight) while covering the escape of his fellow detainees in in S01E03, "Bodies on the Ground". After the escapee is shot by Layla, Gray uses the Type 56 to cover her while they search for the remaining prisoners.
AKMS
An Al-Qaeda terrorist helping rendition suspects escape in "Bodies on the Ground" fires an AKMS at Gray after he disrupts their plan to flee by seaplane.
M16A4
While posing as a Neo-Nazi in British Columbia in S03E04, "Hate Metal", Gray and Danny (Jonathan Malen) practice shooting with M16A4 rifles.
Steyr AUG
Layla assembles a Steyr AUG rifle during S02E02, "Target of Opportunity", while pretending to be assassin Monita Persaud during a sting operation.
Zastava M70AB2
A Zastava M70AB2 rifle is shown being fired during stock footage of the Yugoslavian wars in S01E13, "Blowback".
Sniper Rifles
Remington 700PSS
Kessler is shown unpacking a Remington 700 PSS rifle in the season 1 finale "Blowback", as he seeks revenge against a former Croatian warlord who had resurfaced in Canada. ICS agents also use the Remington 700 on occasion, as does an assassin posing as an ETF sniper in S03E11 "Credible Threat".
Remington 700
Gray fires a standard Remington 700 while posing as a Neo-Nazi in "Hate Metal".
SVD Dragunov
Darnell Williams uses a SVD Dragunov in "Blowback", assassinating an ex-Croatian warlord in the Greater Toronto Area.
Other
M2 Carl Gustav MRAW
Carl Gustav recoilless rifles are among the weapons that are stolen by gunmen from a Canadian military transport in S01E04 "Gross Deceptions".
M26 Taser
Darnell uses a M26 Taser to subdue a terror suspect attempting to attack a Toronto subway station with Anthrax in S01E08, "Enemy Contact". Moose also uses a Taser to fatally tase a former Canadian soldier turned drug mule in S02E09, "Good Intentions".
