The Smith & Wesson Model 1 was the first firearm produced by Smith & Wesson. Production of this single action seven-shot .22 Short revolver ran from 1857 until 1882. In addition to being the first revolver produced by Smith & Wesson, it was also the first revolver available to fire rimfire cartridges.
