The Pelican Brief (1993)

The Pelican Brief is a 1993 thriller based on the John Grisham bestseller and stars Julia Roberts as Darby Shaw, a young law student whose legal brief speculating on who was behind the assassination of two Supreme Court Justices puts her life in danger. Denzel Washington co-stars as Gray Grantham, a Washington D.C. newspaper reporter who helps Darby expose the conspiracy. The film was directed by Alan J. Pakula, who also directed All the President's Men and The Devil's Own.
