M1903A3 Springfield

The M1903A3 Springfield rifles is seen in the hands of American troops during the World War I battle that runs backwards at the beginning of the film. The M1903A3 is anachronistic as A3 variants of the M1903 Springfield were made near World War II while this scene takes place in 1918. The older M1903 would be more accurate for that time rather than an M1903A3. (The rifle in the picture below is a 1903, not an 03A3. Note the position of the rear sight. This is the correct rifle for the time.)
