Community is an ongoing American television comedy series that airs on NBC. It is not a traditional sitcom, as it features many pop culture references and meta humor, sometimes devoting entire episodes to particular pop culture tropes, such as action movies, westerns, conspiracy thrillers, bottle shows, clip shows, and in one particular case, Rankin/Bass stop-motion Christmas specials. It stars Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Chevy Chase, Alison Brie, Donald Glover, Yvette Nicole Brown, Danny Pudi, Jim Rash, and Ken Jeong.

A Mexican gangster is later shown holding one to Pierce's (Chevy Chase) head in a brief shot from "Paradigms of Human Memory" (S02E21). In "Remedial Chaos Theory" (S03E04), it is revealed that Annie keeps one in her purse, and in one possible timeline, it goes off when dropped, wounding Pierce in the leg.
