Is it just me or does the front sight on the Marlin 1894C change from between being in front of the barrel band and behind it throughout the movie? --[[User:jeff sato|jeff sato]] 1:30, 16 May 2011 (EST) | Is it just me or does the front sight on the Marlin 1894C change from between being in front of the barrel band and behind it throughout the movie? --[[User:jeff sato|jeff sato]] 1:30, 16 May 2011 (EST) | ||

Sorry NOT a Gewehr 98
The Gewehr 98 doesn't have wood between the rear 'rollercoaster sight' and the chamber bridge. The rifle in the pics DOES, which makes it another Straight Bolt Mauser variant. MoviePropMaster2008 06:59, 8 February 2011 (UTC) (Edit) I did a check and it seems to match the M1908 the closest. If anyone has an alternate idea, I'm open to suggestions :) MoviePropMaster2008 07:37, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
- Can it be a Zhongzheng/CKS rifle? I didn't consider it initially because I had thought that the Zhongzheng rifle had a bent bolt, not a straight one. It would make sense in terms of the story and practically, since there there are probably thousands of these left in China. --Funkychinaman 20:20, 20 October 2011 (CDT)
