WWII G.I., also known as WW2GI, is a first-person shooter based on Duke Nukem 3D's source code.
The following weapons appear in the videogame WWII G.I. and its expansion pack, Platoon Leader:
M1 Thompson
The M1 Thompson is the player's starting weapon. It carries 168 rounds, and reloads when 28 are fired. It has 48 rounds when the game starts, much like Duke Nukem 3D's pistol.
MP40
The MP40 is inaccurately depicted to be the Germans' main weapon, carried by most Heer infantry and SS soldiers. It carries 180 rounds, and reloads when 30 are fired. Oddly, the MP40's rate of fire is faster when carried by the player. Also, much like most games and films, the gun is held by the magazine.
Browning Automatic Rifle
The Browning Automatic Rifle is used by the player. It has a 3-shot burst.
Platoon Leader version
In the Platoon Leader expansion pack it is available in the Hill 41 mission; and somehow has a faster rate of fire.
M1 Garand
The M1 Garand is used by NPC Allied soldiers. The Garand merely served as a 'decoration' as its damage is the same as the M1 Thompson, also its firing sound is based on the M1 Thompson and the BAR. The Garand is also carried by Medics, Demolition Engineers, and Pvt. McCurkee but they never use it. A M1 Garand attached with a grenade launcher is available to the player. Because of the Build engine mechanism's limits (it fires bazooka rounds), it is possible to destroy a tank using the Grenade Garand.
Platoon Leader version
In the Platoon Leader expansion pack it is used by U.S., only this time it's not a 'decoration' anymore. Japanese troops (which obviously, were re-edited from Allied sprites) also use them in Hill 41; meant to stand-in for the Arisaka. The Viet Cong in Cochise Raiders and Firebase Delta use them as well, standing in for the RPK and AK-47.
Karabiner 98k
The Karabiner 98k is used by German snipers (scoped variant), and also available for the player. It holds 50 rounds, and reloads when 5 are fired. Oddly, when the rifle was dropped by snipers, its scope was gone, and it has no muzzle flash.
M1 Bazooka
The M1 Bazooka is used by the player. There is 33% chance to destroy a tank using the bazooka. It holds 6 rounds.
Platoon leader version
In the Platoon Leader expansion pack, it is used in the Hill 41 mission. It carries 1 round, meaning that it cannot be reloaded.
M2 Flamethrower
The M2 Flamethrower is used by the player. Due to the Build engine mechanism's limits, you can gib, instead of incinerating enemies using the flamethrower.
Mk 2 hand grenade
The Mk 2 Hand Grenade is used by the player. There is very little chance to destroy tanks using the grenade, thanks to the Build engine mechanism's limits (it creates "RADIUSEXPLOSION", which can damage tanks).
Platoon Leader version
In the Platoon Leader expansion pack, it is available in all missions. In the Vietnam War missions (Firebase Delta and Cochise Raiders) it is used as a white phosphorus grenade.
M26 grenade
The M26 hand grenade stands in for the Mk 2 Hand Grenade as its pick up sprites. Anachronistic, because the weapon wasn't even used before the 1950s. The graphics were re-used from NAM.
Luger P08
The Luger P08 is used by Heer and SS officers as their main weapon.
M1911
The M1911 is used by the player. It is dual-wielded and holds 36 rounds, and reloads when 12 are fired. Oddly it fires 2 shots per burst, much like the Devastator from Duke Nukem 3D (which the M1911 replaces), and its sound file is reused from the Browning Automatic Rifle.
Platoon Leader version
In the Platoon Leader expansion pack it is used by the player once again and is not dual-wielded. It also fires 1 shot per burst instead of 2. It is available in Hill 41 and Cochise Raiders.
MG42
The MG42 is used by German machine gunners.
Platoon Leader weapons
The following weapons appear exclusively for the Platoon Leader expansion pack.
M16 (SP1) with M16A2 hand guards
The M16 (SP1) with M16A2 handguards is used in Firebase Delta. NPC U.S. troops also use them in Firebase Delta and Cochise Raiders. The weapon is STILL CALLED an M16 despite all those feats! The rifle's graphics were obviously reused from NAM (Napalm), an earlier game made by WWII G.I.'s developers, TNT Team.
M60
The M60 is used in Cochise Raiders. A few U.S. soldiers can be seen using one in Firebase Delta. The weapon's graphics were obviously reused from NAM (Napalm), an earlier game made by WWII G.I.'s developers, TNT Team.
M72 LAW
The M72 LAW is used in Cochise Raiders. Like in real-life it is disposable, meaning that it can't be reloaded. The weapon's graphics were obviously reused from NAM (Napalm), an earlier game made by WWII G.I.'s developers, TNT Team.
