The Colt [[M4A1 Carbine]] is commonly seen in gameplay footage which is also in the hands of the main character. Because of the alpha stages, the in-game [[M4A1]] can be seen fitted with iron sights, EOtech 551 Holographic sight, Trijicon 4x32 ACOG scope, Surefire Universal WeaponLight, AN/PEQ-2 laser designator, Magpul Ranger Plate and an unknown stock (possibly a painted LE stock or Magpul CTR stock). Two different "reload-from-empty" animations currently exist. The "Fault Line" trailers had the player rack the charging handle, while the Operation Metro trailer, and the PS3 Fault Line gameplay from the June 16th, 2011 edition of Jimmy Fallon's Late Night show, had the player use the bolt release button. Another thing to note, the M4A1 depicted in the "Operation Metro" trailer has full iron sights and has not been seen with an optic. Not to be mistaken with the M16A3 in the trailers, which is lacking a front sight post/gas block with the ACOG attached.

The weapon is a bullpup conversion of the Iranian DIO S-5.56, which a clone of the Norinco CQ (a Chinese knockoff of the M16A1). The Kh2002 was put into service in 2004 as a replacement for the Iranian Military's obsolete G3A3's. The model featured in the game is the improved model introduced in 2009, as noted by its longer carry handle and barrel mounted front sight.

Fun Fact: The rifle is named after "The Battle of Khaybar," where the Muslim Prophet Muhammad lead a victorious attack against a large settlement of Jews living in the Arabian settlement of Khaybar. Muhammad believed that the loot and prestige gained from Khaybar would be necessary in order to fund his future military campaigns.

Battlefield 3 (2011)

Battlefield 3 (also known as BF3) is the direct sequel to Battlefield 2 which was released on June 21, 2005, also the twelfth installment of the series. The game is been developed by the Swedish company Digital Illusions CE (DICE) and will be published by Electronic Arts on October 25, 2011 in North-America, later in Australia on October 27th and on October 28th in Europe. One of the main features of the game is the new engine, the Frostbite 2, which bringing a large improvement from Battlefield: Bad Company 2's engine, and includes the graphics, sounds, animations, generally gameplay and much more. BF3 is developed for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

The following weapons appear in the video game Battlefield 3:

Handguns

Beretta M9

In the beginning of the single-player mission that was shown during gameplay footage, a Marine who is sitting in front of the player has a Beretta M9 pistol holstered to his vest. It can also be seen in the multiplayer footage of E3 that the player is reloading his M9. Another note of interest is that unlike in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Medal of Honor (multiplayer), the M9's magazine has 15 rounds + 1 in the chamber like it should be. An M9 fitted with a suppressor can be seen in the Co-op trailer.

Assault Rifles

Colt M16A4

The M16A4 rifle was shown during early gameplay footage but was lacking rear iron sights. This is because the game was still under early alpha development. It was later confirmed that both M16A3 and M16A4 will be available for use within the game.

In this picture, it seems that the developers have removed the front gas block like in Call of Duty. So in this case, the rifle would not properly function like in reality. This has since been fixed by having the front sight disappear when aiming.

Colt M4A1 Carbine

The Colt M4A1 Carbine is commonly seen in gameplay footage which is also in the hands of the main character. Because of the alpha stages, the in-game M4A1 can be seen fitted with iron sights, EOtech 551 Holographic sight, Trijicon 4x32 ACOG scope, Surefire Universal WeaponLight, AN/PEQ-2 laser designator, Magpul Ranger Plate and an unknown stock (possibly a painted LE stock or Magpul CTR stock). Khaybar/KH2002

The Xbox 360 Operation Guillotine gameplay trailer shows an Iranian soldier using the bullpup Iranian Khaybar (aka KH2002) Assault Rifle. The KH2002 was put into service in 2004 as a replacement for the Iranian Military's obsolete G3A3.
