The LeMat percussion revolver was invented by a French American gunsmith and first issued in 1861. The gun was famed for its 9 shot capacity and an under barrel 16 or 18 gauge shotgun, and was favored by Confederate soldiers during the civil war. Production ceased mainly in 1865 but the gun was still made in limited quantities for quite a long time. Today, some companies make reproduction models.

Television

  • Carried by Jayne Cobb in the Short-lived TV Show Firefly, modified to look more futuristic
  • A 1959–1960 CBS television show, "Johnny Ringo" aired for one season (38 episodes). Ringo was played by Don Durant and carried a LeMat revolver
  • Found in an old Confederate weapons cache on NCIS (Episode 3.03, "Silver War")

Video Games

  • Red Dead Redemption, dubbed the "LeMat Revolver", is only seen used by the player. You are unable to use the shotgun barrel.
  • Call of Juarez, dubbed the "Hybrid Gun", is seen as Tom Manson's sidearm. The shotgun is usable.
  • Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, dubbed the "Hybrid Gun" is seen used by many enemies, specifically Mexican banditos under the Juarez gang. You are able to use the shotgun barrel.
