Life on Mars was the American remake of the UK television series of the same name. The show aired on ABC from 2008-2009 and followed an NYPD detective (Jason O'Mara) living in 2008, who after getting hit by a car, finds himself in the body of a cop living in 1973, yet still retaining the memories of his modern life.
The following weapons were used in the series Life on Mars:
Charter Arms Undercover
An older-model 2" Charter Arms Undercover in .38 Special with a bobbed hammer is the sidearm Sam Tyler (Jason O'Mara) carries in 1973.
Smith and Wesson Model 36 (Chief's Special)
The Smith & Wesson Model 36 is carried by Detective Ray Carling (Michael Imperioli) and Detective Chris Skelton (Jonathan Murphy).
Colt Model M1911A1
The Colt Model 1911A1 is used throughout the series.
Walther PP
The Walther PP is used by Tony Crane in the episode "The Simple Secret of the Note in Us All."
Smith & Wesson Model 10HB
Police officers are seen carrying the Smith & Wesson Model 10HB in the episode "Tuesday's Dead."
Walther PPK
The Walther PPK is used by Lieutenant Hunt during the opening sequence in the episode "Home is Where You Hang Your Holster."
M4A1
The M4A1 is carried by an NYPD ESU member in 2008, in the premiere "Out Here in the Fields".
Glock 19
The Glock 19 is briefly seen in the hands of Sam Tyler in 2008.
Remington 870
The Remington 870 shotgun is seen being used by police officers throughout the series.
Ruger Mini-14
A Ruger Mini-14 with a 5 round magazine is used in the episode "Life is a Rock." This is anachronistic because the Mini-14 was not introduced until 1974.
AKM
In a continuity error, Det. Tyler's Ruger AC556 switches to an AKM in between shots.
