Interestingly, Dead Space seems to be an alternate rip-off of Alien, although with a few differences. Both the first Dead Space and Alien are about a crew part of a major corporation investigate a signal being repeatedly transmitted from a wrecked and seemingly abandoned ship. They investigate it to find an infestation that can threaten the survival of humanity. One of the crew members is a "spy" from a government organization attempting to capture something alien and take it back to Earth at the cost of the crews' lives. The main protagonist, a strong, determined senior worker with a great expertise in operating machinery, stops the "spy", destroys the whole ship, and escapes on an escape pod.
