Anyone who doesn't understand what a "poolee" in the Marine Corps is look at discussion
Birthplace- South Korea, but moved to US at young age
Hobbies- Airsoft, Xbox, snowboarding,
Future Plans- United States Marine Corps, just turned poolee yesterday- September 14,2010. Ship date is in Late August, looking at MEOP for primary MOS, but may switch to different MOS later in the Marines.
Favorite Movies- Public Enemies, We Were Soldiers, Black Hawk Down, Saving Private Ryan, The Town
Favorite firearms
M16A4-Alongside the M16A2, the standard Marine Corps infantry rifle, can't go wrong with it.
HK416- Basically an M4A1, but more reliable. The weapon I would want in a combat zone.
Beretta M9- Accurate 9mm pistol with a 15 round magazine and very easy to field strip.
Colt M1911- A reliable hangun to go with a hard hitting round. Another one of John Browning's fantastic designs.
M1921 Thompson- A cool looking gun with a hard hitting round. If the Winchester 73 was "The Gun That Won The West" this was "The Gun That Won The Gangsters."
M1 Garand- As quoted by General George S Patton, it was "The greatest battle implement ever devised." 8 rounds of 30-06 in a semi-auto rifle. Watch out for the PING.
Remington M40- In my humble opinion, The best sniper system ever made. Wielded by legends like Carlos Hathcock and Chuck Mawhinney.
Barrett M107- A great rifle for long distance. Able to stop almost anything on the modern battlefield with 10 rounds of semi-auto .50 caliber fire.
Springfield 1903- A rugged rifle for World War 1 and a good sniper weapon in World War 2. Perfect weapon for the "devil dogs"
M14- A great infantry weapon and an even better sniper rifle. 20 rounds of semi-auto fire, plus Chuck Mawhinney got 16 headshots with this rifle and a starlight night scope in less than 30 seconds.
Favorite USMC Quotes
"From the time I touched that Remington 700, I was in love with it, I wanted to be a sniper. I'm gonna hunt something thats gonna hunt me back, Oh I love that."- Chuck Mawhinney- Most Confirmed kills in Marine Corps history, 103 with 216 probables.
"The sun glared off his lense of the scope I guess. I saw the glint, I shot it where the glint was... By looks of things, I was just the quickest on the trigger otherwise he would've killed me. How do I know he would've killed me? I shot right through his scope, right straight through his scope, didn't touch the sides and it didn't do his eyesight no good on that side either."- Carlos Hathcock- USMC scout sniper with 93 confired killed.
"The first guy I saw him pop up, slung the crosshairs over him, flipped the weapon onto kill, sent the round downrange... that hit its mark. It was just a pink mist."- Steve Reichert- USMC scout sniper, 1-mile killshot with Barret M82A3.
"We're surrounded... that simplifies the problem."- Lewis "Chesty" Puller- Most decorated Marine is its history.
"Marines die, that's what we're here for. But the Marine Corps lives forever. And that means YOU live forever."- R. Lee Ermey using his own choice of words in Full Metal Jacket, 1987
"For 235 years and counting our Corps has done two things for this great Nation. We make Marines, and we win battles." various Marines including Gen. Charles C. Krulak
