Downtown is a 1990 action comedy starring Anthony Edwards as Philadelphia police officer who gets transferred to the toughest precinct in the city and gets partnered with a tough downtown detective (Forest Whitaker) in order to take down a city crime lord. The film was directed by Richard Benjamin.

Detective Dennis Curren (Forest Whitaker) carries a 2.5 inch .357 Smith & Wesson Model 19 as his sidearm throughout the film. A memorable scene is where he uses it to shoot Alex's radio at the end while in a hospital bed.

A Philadelphia officer is armed with an Ithaca 37 shotgun during the precinct shootout.

Curren is also seen holding a Mossberg 500AT shotgun with a sawed-off stock when he pretends to hold Kearney hostage.
