A nickel plated M1911A1 is first used by Harry McKeena (Donald Sutherland). It is later used by his son Steve McKeena (Ben Foster). The gun has a Latin phrase, "Amat Victoria Curam", engraved on one side of the slide and its translation on the other. The translation is "Victory Loves Preparation". It also is supposed to be 30 years old and is marked US Army Property.

A pistol-gripped Mossberg 500 shotgun (noted by trigger guard and safety) fitted with a saddle shell holder is also seen in a bag packed with guns. Underneath the Mossberg, the receiver of the FN F2000 is seen, but it doesn't appear the scope has been installed.
