Should it really be considered an "M4gery" if it is made by the same company?

I Am Legend (2007)

Colt AR15 Law Enforcement Carbine (M4gery)

Robert Neville (Will Smith) uses a semi-automatic Colt AR15 model that loosely resembles an M4A1; this variant is referred to in the company's catalog as the "Law Enforcement Carbine" (see http://www.colt.com/law/lecarbine.asp for more info on this model). The LE Carbine is a semi-automatic-only variant with a 16" barrel, but according to the Propstore of London, the weapon was modified to fire automatic for the film. It is one of the many types of "M4gery" available. His AR is also equipped with an ACOG (TA31 Series) sight attachment throughout the movie. The tactical light on the gun is a Pentagon MD3R.

Should it really be considered an "M4gery" if it is made by the same company?

M4A1s are also used by many of the military personnel seen evacuating Neville and his family from New York City during the flashback scenes.

PentagonLight™ MD3R

The weapon light used in the movie is a PentagonLight™ MD3R.

Trijicon ACOG (Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight) TA31 Model

The optic Neville used on his AR is a Trijicon ACOG TA31F. However, the movie displayed an incorrect reticle for the optic.

Heckler & Koch Mark 23 ("SOCOM")

Neville's (Will Smith's) sidearm throughout the movie is a Heckler & Koch Mark 23 with a flat earth (tan) frame. He uses the weapon most notably to kill the infected dogs in the middle of the film.

Beretta M92FS

Neville's (Will Smith) nightstand pistol is a Beretta M92FS or M9 (more likely the latter, since Neville is ex-military).

Smith & Wesson 5946

Robert Neville (Will Smith) draws a Smith & Wesson 5946 on Anna (Alice Braga) and Ethan (Charlie Tahan). The 5946 in the DAO setting is one of two pistols used by the NYPD, so it was likely recovered by Neville from an NYPD precinct.

Glock 19

Anna (Alice Braga) draws a Glock 19 on Robert Neville (Will Smith) during breakfast in Neville's home. As the Glock 19 is an issue NYPD weapon, this gun was, again, likely taken from an NYPD precinct.

M16A2

One of the guards that greets Anna (Alice Braga) and Ethan (Charlie Tahan) is armed with an M16A2. When Neville opens the weapons cabinet there is an M16.

Special Weapons SP-10

Used by the 2 Army Rangers that escort Dr. Neville to the dock.

Evidence: "Five minutes, we'll make it." (Evident from the stock)

Evidence: When Dr. Neville orders the other troops to "get your hands off my wife," one of the Rangers escorting Dr. Neville picks up his SP-10 (flashes for a brief second)

<thanks for the edit :)>

M4A1

Used by US Army Personel at the harbor during the evacuation scene. One of the M4A1s clearly has a reflex scope on top, with a regular handguard. Others have regular ironsights. (at the part where Dr. Neville says, "Scan her again!")

M249 SAW

When Dr.Neville (Will Smith) opens the gun cabinet you can see a M249 SAW along with another M4A1 Carbine with the flashlight on the opposite side.
