The Big Combo is a 1955 film noir starring Cornel Wilde as Detective Leonard Diamond who has two dangerous obsessions: a reckless, hell-bent crusade to bring down smooth and sadistic gangster Mr. Brown (Richard Conte) and an insatiable desire for good girl gone bad Susan Lowell, who is Mr. Brown's captive lover. Meanwhile, Brown's lieutenant McClure (Brian Donlevy) plots with cruel hoods Fante and Mingo to overthrow their boss. In Brown's world however, defections and disloyalty are punishable by cruel and unusual deaths.
