Nice, but where's the trigger? This article or section is incomplete. You can help IMFDB by expanding it. |
The following weapons appear in the video game Rainbow Six: Vegas 2:
Handguns
Beretta 92FS
The Beretta 92FS appears in the game as the "92FS", and can be modified with silencer, laser and high capacity magazines like the other pistols. It can be seen as the sidearm used by the LVPD SWAT officers and terrorists in game. Interestingly, the in-game 92FS has a skeleton hammer as opposed to the standard ring hammer. Also note that in all of the screencaps below, the safety switch is on. Oops.
Has anyone else noticed when you hold the 92FS in first person the player is using an unusually low grip? about 1/4 of the backstrap is visible.
Česká Zbrojovka CZ-G2000
The CZ-G2000 can be seen in the armory behind Bishop in the character customization, but is not usable in game.
Glock 18
The Glock 18 appears in the game and can be modified with a laser sight and high capacity magazines. It is used as a sidearm by some terrorists, and is Gabriel Nowak's sidearm of choice. It features a full-auto fire mode unique among the pistols of the game. Its standard magazine is a 10-round low-capacity civilian magazine. Using the extended magazine attachment swaps those mags out for standard capacity 17-round mags. The real world model used for the gun in the game is a KWA airsoft G18C, which is attested to by the built in compensator on the top (only seen in the airsoft gun) and the lack of engravings. An interesting note about this gun is that when it is fired the breach is never opened, rather the integrated compensator open up and releases the spent casing/s (this is of course not the case with the real weapon.) The situation gets stranger given the fact that a much more accurately modelled G18C was used in a previous Ubisoft game, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, which even had an appropriately-shaped muzzle flash for its compensator port.
Heckler & Koch Mk 23 Mod 0
The Heckler & Koch Mk 23 Mod 0 appears in the game, and can be modified like all the pistols. It is the most popular pistol on online servers. In game it is the standard sidearm used by the Rainbow team.
Heckler & Koch USP
The Heckler & Koch USP appears in the game as the .40 caliber variant "USP 40.", and can be modified with silencer, laser and high capacity magazines like the other pistols. It is used by some of the Rainbow operatives.
IMI Desert Eagle XIX
The Desert Eagle appears in the game, it can be modified with laser and high capacity magazines, but not a suppressor. It is the side arm of some terrorists in game (Miguel Cabrero carries two, as he drops one, and then tries to pull another out - bad idea when at gunpoint), including, apparently, all the guys with bulletproof shields, and since they fire non-stop...
Taurus Raging Bull
The Taurus Raging Bull revolver appears in the game, it can only be modified with a laser. Despite being a sidearm, it is used as a main weapon by some of the terrorists in game. The one used in the game is most likely chambered for .480 Ruger due to its 6-round cylinder capacity and massive power.
Walther P99
The Walther P99 appears in the game (as the version chambered for the .40 S&W cartridge), and can be modified like all the pistols. It is (quite rarely) seen in terrorist hands.
Wow, that's some horrible imaging there. It's like they didn't even try to model the P99. --Clutch 02:15, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
I know, it's as if only Quantum of Solace got the first person model and iron sights correct. User: GunFame27
Submachine Guns/Personal Defense Weapons
Brügger & Thomet MP-9
The Brügger & Thomet MP-9 is in the game, it can be modified with everything.
Fabrique Nationale P90
The FN P90 is in the game, it can be modified with everything except the extended magazine. Occasionally terrorists will be equipped with this weapon.
Heckler & Koch MP5A5/MP5N
The Heckler & Koch MP5A5 is in the game as the "MP5N" cosign used by the United States Navy and the SEALs and is modifiable like all weapons in the game. It is used by Rainbow (especially Logan), LVPD SWAT, and by the terrorists. The In-game model is of the MP5N, meaning that the 3 round burst setting is absent from the left side of the gun making it appear as the navy model, but it has a three-round burst setting in the gun's silencer/fire mode menu, making it an MP5A5. It's the first weapon you get to use.
Heckler & Koch MP7A1
The Heckler & Koch MP7A1 is in the game, it can be modified with everything except the extended magazine. The MP7A1 is used with a suppressor by several Rainbow operatives; it is the secondary weapon for Jung Park when he isn't using a G36C and for Michael Walters when he isn't using a Mk. 46 machine gun.
Heckler & Koch UMP
The Heckler & Koch UMP is in the game, it can be modified with everything and has a two-shot burst mode. It is often used by terrorists later in game.
IMI Uzi
The IMI Uzi can be seen in the armory behind Bishop in the character customization, but is not usable in game.
Ingram MAC-11
The Ingram MAC-11, referred to as the "M11" is in the game and like the other weapons, it can be modified. It is often seen in terrorist hands. One note of interest is that it's modeled after the semi-auto civilian legal M11 that is modified to full auto. Its closed bolt is the telltale sign. This machine pistol has an extremely high rate of fire and is difficult to control given that its stock cannot be extended.
SA Vz.83 Skorpion
The SA Vz.83 Skorpion appears in the game as the "Skorpion VZ83" chambered in .380 ACP, and can be modified with everything except for the ACOG scope. It is occasionally used by terrorists in game. PC version allows for semi-auto fire as well as the default full-auto option, but sights must be reset after EVERY shot as the weapon becomes misaligned after the first shot is fired in semi-auto mode.
Steyr AUG Para
The Steyr AUG Para is seen in the game as a submachine gun with a high cyclic rate, and can be modified with everything. It is used by LVPD SWAT and by terrorists.
Type 05 JS
The QCQ-05 appears in the game. It is one of the more powerful submachine guns in game, has a 3-round burst mode and can be modified with everything except for the high capacity magazine (which it certainly does not need). The Type 05 can be seen in terrorist hands in game.
Shotguns
Benelli M3 Super 90
The Benelli M3 Super 90 appears in the game, it can be modified with laser-sights, Rifle scopes, and Reflex sights. It is incorrectly portrayed as pump-action only.
Daewoo USAS-12
The USAS-12 can be seen in the armory behind Bishop in the character customization, but is not usable in game.
Franchi SPAS-12
The Franchi SPAS-12 appears in the game, it can be modified with laser-sights, Rifle scopes, and Reflex sights. In game, it can be found in terrorist hands. It appears in only pump-action operation when the actual gun has semi-auto operation. A lot of games do this to the SPAS-12.
M26 Modular Accessory Shotgun System
The stand-alone version of the M26 Modular Accessory Shotgun System appears in the game, it can be modified with laser-sights, Rifle scopes, and Reflex sights. Puzzlingly, the M26 in the game is select-fire, while the real one is a straight-pull bolt action.
Mossberg 500
The Mossberg 500 appears in the game as the "500 Tactical" and can be modified with laser-sights, Rifle scopes, and Reflex sights. It is used often by the terrorists in game. It is the last weapon to be unlocked with CQB Points.
Remington 870 MCS
The MCS variant of the Remington 870 shotgun appears in the game, and it can be modified with laser-sights, Rifle scopes, and Reflex sights. Terrorists use this weapon fairly often.
Assault Rifles/Battle Rifles
AK-74
The AK-74 can be seen in the armory behind Bishop in the character customization, but is unusable in game.
AKS-74U
The AKS-74U is present in game and can be modified with a lasersight, ACOG, extended magazine, holographic sight, and 3X Scope. It can be seen in terrorist hands in game. It is the most popular gun online.
In the trailers, it says the AKS-74U is chambered in 7.62x39mm, but in game, it doesn't share ammo with the AK-47, so it might have been fixed when the game was actually released. Note: The handguard is wrong for the Russian AKS-74U in game, it's not supposed to have a handguard like that of the AK-47.
Barret M468
The Barrett M468 appears in game. As opposed to the belief of those who haven't played it, it IS the M468. It is an unlockable weapon, and can be seen used by terrorists in the Nevada Desert in game.
Note that the selector only has "SAFE" and "FIRE" positions. The lower receiver also lacks a hole for the autosear above the selector, despite the weapon's full auto capability in-game.
Sometimes I wonder if game producers and modelers have ever thought about the fact that trained units of any militia or army are taught trigger disciple. User: GunFame27
Enfield L85A2
The L85A2 can be seen in game and can be equipped with everything. A Rainbow operative can be seen using this rifle in one of the game's levels.
Fabrique Nationale FNC 80
The FN FNC is one of the assault rifles in the game, and can be equipped with all addons. It is sometimes used by Rainbow operatives and is very often used by the terrorists.
Fabrique Nationale SCAR-H
The FN SCAR-H is in the game, it can be modified with everything. It is extensively used by Rainbow and is often seen in terrorist use. It is Gabriel Nowak's weapon of choice along with his MP5A3/MP5N in the earlier missions prior to the events in Rainbow Six: Vegas 2.
GIAT FAMAS F1
The FAMAS is in the game, it can be modified with everything. It can sometimes be seen in terrorist hands.
Heckler & Koch G3KA4
The Heckler & Koch G3KA4 is in the game, it can be modified with everything. It is occasionally used by terrorists. There are some inaccuracies in that it uses 30 round mags but the size indicates the use of a 20 round.
Heckler & Koch G36C
The Heckler & Koch G36C is in the game, it can be modified with everything. It is teammate Jung Park's primary weapon.
Heckler & Koch XM8
The Heckler & Koch XM8 is in the game as the "M8", it can be modified with everything. It is obtained late in the game, and Bishop him/herself is the only user of this weapon. It is seen as having an accessory rail that extends to the end of the carrying handle.
The version in game looks like the Xm8r, a version of the Xm8 built to use standard 20mm rail systems. ~Theonemoo

IMI Tavor TAR-21
The Tavor TAR-21 is in the game and can be modified with everything. It is very popular on online servers due to their high rate of fire. Strangely, you cannot use it without the MARS sight. It has no iron sights in the first game either. An upside to this is that you can use the extended mag while having the MARS sight as well. It is sometimes used by Rainbow operatives and is quite common in terrorist use.
SIG SG 552
The SIG SG 552 appears in the game as the "552 Commando" and can be modified with everything. It is one of the assault rifles used by the Rainbow team (it is the preferred rifle of both Logan and Chavez) and is also sometimes used by terrorists.
Steyr AUG A3
The Steyr AUG A3 is in the game as the "AUG A3" and can be modified with everything. It is occasionally used by the terrorists.
-The third picture with the iron sights is horrible, you can barely see the front sight. GunFame27
AK-47
The AK-47 only appears in the first 2 missions used by terrorists (but it can be seen held by a terrorist on the monitors in the Exhibition mission), it can be modified with a laser sight, ACOG, reflex sight, 6X Scope, or an extended magazine.
Sniper Rifles
Accuracy International AS50
The Accuracy International AS50 can be seen in the armory behind Bishop in the character customization, but is not usable in game.
Accuracy International L96 Arctic Warfare
The Accuracy International L96A1 appears in game, and can be modified with a 12x scope. It is the last weapon to be unlocked with Marksman Points.
Heckler & Koch PSG-1
The Heckler & Koch PSG-1 is in the game, like the other sniper rifles, it can be modified with a 12x Scope. The PSG-1 is the standard Rainbow sniper rifle.
Izhmash SV-98
The SV-98 appears in the game, like the other sniper rifles, it can be modified with a 12x Scope. It is often used by terrorist snipers in game.
KAC SR-25 Sniper Rifle
The Knight's Armament SR-25 is a silenced sniper rifle based on the M16 rifle, it can be modified with a 12x scope. The SR-25 is a upscaled version of the M16, it is not an AR-10 as popularly believed, both the lower and upper receiver are completely different to that of an AR-10. the SR-25 is a STONER RIFLE (25), by Eugene Stoner from KAC, (Knights Armament Corporation). Armalite holds the patents to the name and design of "AR-10". It can be seen used by Rainbow operatives in game.
Fun fact: the designation 25 in Sr-25 is from adding Ar-10 and AR-15. -FirearmFanatic
M40A1 Sniper Rifle
The M40 sniper rifle appears in the game, like the other sniper rifles, it can be modified with bigger scopes. It is used by a terrorist sniper in the Refinery.
Steyr Scout Tactical
The Steyr Scout appears in the game, like the other sniper rifles, it can be modified with a 12x Scope. A few of the terrorist snipers use this rifle.
Strangely, in this game when you pick up this gun, the barrel is exposed on top, which on the Steyr Scout it is not. In the Outfitting menu, it is the Scout Tactical and the picture is a Steyr.
Machine Guns
Heckler & Koch HK21E
The Heckler & Koch HK21 machine gun is in the game, it can be modified with Reflex sight, laser sight, rifle scope and better buttstock. It is used by the terrorists often. Despite the appearance of a fire-selector switch and the appropriate markings, the HK21E is restricted to full-auto fire.
Heckler & Koch MG36
The Heckler & Koch MG36 is frequently used by enemies in the game, it can be modified with Reflex sight, laser sight, rifle scope and better buttstock. Despite being based on a regular G36 rifle, the MG36 is restricted to full-auto only, even though its counterpart in the Ghost Recon series allows for selection between semi, tri-burst, and full-auto fire.
The Scope on top of the weapon cannot be removed in real-life, and why in-game, does it reveal a picatinney rail underneath? - Camden
The scope used ingame is not the build-in model, its some other. It is removable and there's still the non-removable scope underneath wich is integrated in the carrying handle. And the picatinny rail on top of the handle is a normal feature available on G36s. Next time take a second look, Camden
I believe he's talking about a full picatinny rail. normally there's just enough of a rail to cover the scope portion
FN M249 SPW
The M249 SPW is in the game, it can be modified with Reflex sight, laser sight, rifle scope and better buttstock. Mostly found as fixed position turrets throughout the game. It has the wrong buttstock in game when used by the player (It has a para-type buttstock in reality), but the right one when mounted and in the picture in the character customization.
Mk 46 Mod 0 Light Machine Gun
The Mk 46 Mod 0 is in the game, it can be modified with Reflex sight, laser sight, rifle scope and better stock. It is the squad support weapon of choice for Rainbow and is used by Michael Walters in Bishop's team.
Explosives
AN-M14 TH Incendiary Grenade
Grenade that sets it's victims on fire. Also disrupts thermal vision for a short time.
Breaching Charge
C4
Er... That's from battlefield 2
Yeah but its in this game too
It looks nothing like that in the game. It's more of a smaller long rectangle.
Flashbang Grenade
M67 Hand Grenade
The ubiquitous M67 hand grenade.
Smoke Grenade
Unknown rocket launcher
At the train station, the terrorists fire a rocket at the player. It is unknown what weapon it is, because you only see the rocket coming towards you
Firearm Accessories
ACOG Scope
C-More Reflex Sight
Game Trivia
- This is one of the few games where it depicts cartridges actually being pushed upwards [Or in the P90's case, backwards] as they are fired through clear magazines.
- When the Silencer is placed on it, it sounds like the MP5SD sound used in Bad Boys II
- The odd thing about the L85A2 in the game is when in its basic mode, with no attachments, the standard magazine capacity is 25 rounds instead of 30 round as it should be. One can get an "extended magazine" which increases the mag capacity to 35. Realistically, such a thing doesn't exist. And when equipped with a scope, you can't get a SUSAT, originally fitted to all models, now replaced by the ACOG.
- In real life, the original L85A1s had some problems with the magazines - cheaply made US Stanag mags, bought by the MoD, could only carry 25/6 rounds, unless the user wished to have a jam. Blank magazines (yellow painted) can only carry 25 rounds too, despite the new 'A2' mod.
- The L85A2 has the sound of the AK47 from the original Rainbow Six: Vegas, despite having two different calibers.
- This is nothing new, for instance in (sorry for bringing up a lesser title in comparison to Vegas) Modern Warfare 2, the L86 is 'voiced' by the Dragunov from Modern Warfare 1. Neither of them sound the same, whatsoever.
- The Fa-MAS in the Game uses the right caliber; 5,56mm NATO. BUT if you see someone with the Rifle it has a H&K G3 magazine instead of the Fa-MAS ones. In First-Person View it has the right one.
