Sunshine (1999)

Sunshine is a historical drama written, produced and directed by Hungarian director István Szabó. Double barreled shotgun

Double barreled shotguns are used for hunting, first by hunters including Ignatz Sonnenschein before World War I, and later by hunters including his grandson Ivan Sors after WWII. (Both men played by Ralph Fiennes)

Years later, after World War II, Ivan Sors participates in a similar hunt, also using a double barreled shotgun. His colleagues, however use less traditional hunting equipment.


Mauser K98K

In a concentration camp, the guards are armed with what appear to be Karabiner 98k rifles. During WWII, the Hungarian Army used the FEG 43M rifle, which resembled the K98K.

A defiant Adam Sors (also played by Ralph Fiennes) is confronted by a sadistic concentration camp guard. His goons are armed with K98K rifles. Those rifles are later used to beat Adam.


Mosin Nagant rifle

After World War II, Hungary was behind the Iron Curtain, and thus used Soviet weapons, such as the Mosin Nagant Rifle.

Miscellaneous

T-34 and T-55 tanks

After souring with the Hungarian communists, Ivan Sors participates in the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. He rallies the people in a square, despite the Soviet tanks, two T-55s and a T-34 rolling up on them.
