East West 101 is a critically acclaimed and award winning Australian drama series airing on the SBS network. The series is set around the Major Crime Squad in metropolitan Sydney, Australia.

M16A1 with A2 style hardguards

At least two M16A2 'style' rifles are carried by tactical officers with one having an unknown scope fitted atop the carrying handle. A similar looking rifle is also seized by police in episode 10 "Ice in the Veins". Possibly an M16A1 with A2 style hardguards. Putting the distinctive A2 handguards on the older rifle was a method used by Movie/TV armorers to simulate A2 rifles when M16A1s were the only ones available.

It appears that both the Zastava M70AB2 folding stock rifle and M70B1 (fixed) stock are used to represent fully automatic "AK-47's" during episode 1 of series 3 during "The Heist".
