Revision as of 21:10, 23 April 2011
The following firearms are seen in pre-release material for the upcoming video game "Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City", slated for release this winter.
Handguns
Glock 17
Leon's VP70 from Resident Evil 2 seems to have been replaced with a third-generation Glock 17. While purists may cry out at the change, the Glock 17 isn't the worst decision the design team could have gone with, as it's in the same vein as the VP70, a polymer pistol with a 17-round magazine capacity.
SIG-Sauer P226
Vektor is seen armed with a SIG-Sauer P226, while using a zombie as an (in)human shield.
Submachineguns
MAC-11
Bertha is seen using a similar MAC-11 to the one used in Resident Evil 2, complete with barrel extension.
MP5A3
An unnamed USS member is seen armed with an MP5A3, consistent with Resident Evil 2's choice of arming the USS. His example is fitted with a Surefire forend.
Rifles
G36K
Vektor, Spectre, and Beltway are all seen wielding G36Ks, sometimes suppressed. The forend features possibly-anachronistic rails, as the game takes place in September 1998.
M4A1
U.S. Spec Ops teams are seen armed with M4A1s, fitted with Aimpoint Red Dot Sights.
Shotguns
Mossberg M590
Beltway is seen with a fullstock Mossberg 590 with a heatshield in a promotional render.
Machine Guns
M249 Para
A U.S. Spec Ops troop appears to be carrying an M249 Para in the trailer.
