Grizzly, is a 1976 horror film about a fifteen foot tall grizzly bear (Even though the poster says 18 feet, the film confirms the bear to be fifteen feet tall) terrorizing a national forest. The movie stars Christopher George, Andrew Prine, Richard Jaeckal, Joan McCall, and Joe Dorsey, and is directed by William L. Girdler (Who went on to film Day of the Animals (1977).
WARNING: HERE BE SPOILERS! The following firearms were used in Grizzly:
M1903 Springfield
Ranger Tom (Tom Arcuragi) is seen using an M1903 Springfield against the bear when it attacks him in a fire tower. A lone hunter(David M. Holt Jr.) also uses a Springfield 1903, but drops the rifle when he encounters the bear (The gun then mysteriously transforms into a lever-action rifle).
Winchester Model 1912
In the enormous mob of hunters tracking the grizzly, two men are seen with Winchester Model 1912 shotguns.
Unknown Over Under Shotgun
A man is seen with what appears to be a Over & Under Shotgun Double Barreled Shotgun of unknown make.
Winchester Model 1894
A Winchester Model 1894 is seen in the hands of many hunters and rangers. Arthur Scott (Richard Jaeckal) also uses a Winchester Model 1894, which uses custom-made tranquilizer rounds.
Winchester Model 70
The Winchester Model 70 appears to be standard issue to the park rangers, and many hunters also use them. Michael Kelly (Christopher George) and Don Stober (Andrew Prine) are also armed with bolt action rifles.
Unknown Rocket Launcher
Kelly uses a rocket launcher (Belonging to Dan who kept it after his tour in Vietnam), to kill the bear. Which seems to be a bit of an overkill.
Unknown Firearms
Many rangers and hunters are armed with unknown rifles and shotguns.
