Allied Weapons

M1 Garand

The M1 Garand appears in the game as the standard-issue weapon of U.S. Army Soldiers in the game, and is the weapon the player starts out with in the first level. It also cannot be reloaded until the entire en-bloc clip is expended, this is because the game's engine only allows one reload animation per weapon, and reloading the M1 mid clip would require a second animation showing the manual ejection of the clip, then the loading of a new clip, being unable to reload mid clip in the game has no truth to the M1 Garand in real life, in fact the M1 was just as common and easy to reload mid clip as an other weapon was. In the level, "The Golden Lion", a German soldier in a pub is carrying the Garand. Possibly a capture from American forces, this was common among German soldiers, who were keen to get their hands on the more advanced and lethal M1s over their outdated K98 bolt action rifles, and less than popular G-43 rifles, which were not as reliable, advanced, or simple as the Garand was, and were never mass produced.

M1A1 Thompson

The M1A1 Thompson appears in the game as an available SMG in levels where U.S. forces are present, such as in the first level set during the D-Day landings in Normandy. It also strangely holds only 20 rounds despite having a 30 round magazine.

Browning Automatic Rifle

The Browning Automatic Rifle appears in the game as one of the most effective allied automatic weapons. The game version of the B.A.R. has the fire select set to fire at 350 RPM, though its also able to fire at 550 RPM, but this option isn't available in-game, it has a detachable box magazine that carries 20 rounds, and is somewhat inaccurate at long range, but is still an effective weapon when engaged with multiple enemies. The purpose of the B.A.R. is to provide suppressing fire on the enemy and allow safe flanking maneuvers by the rest of the squad, while the B.A.R. gunner keeps the enemy pinned.

M1911A1

The M1911A1 appears in the game as the default handgun in early levels, particularly those where U.S. forces are present, it chambers the massive .45 ACP cartridge, and fires from a 7 round detachable box magazine. Called "Colt .45"

High Standard HDM

The High Standard HDM pistol appears as the "silenced pistol", and is the default handgun in some of the later levels, particularly those where the player is tasked with an infiltration mission and stealth is crucial.

M1919 Machine Gun

The Browning M1919 machine gun appears in the level "Seaside Stowaway" mounted on a U.S. Army Jeep that crashes after being strafed by a German Me-109 fighter. Manning the machine gun will trigger a wave of enemy soldiers to attack, but you have unlimited ammunition for the weapon with which to dispatch the enemy.

M1903A4 Springfield

The sniper variant of the M1903 Springfield appears in the game as a sniper rifle in some of the earlier levels. It has a somewhat slow rate of fire due to the bolt-action nature of the rifle, but it is incredibly accurate, with great range. note: Always be mindful not to get caught with this rifle in close range, especially if the enemy is armed with a submachine gun, this weapon is best used to soften up an area before you move in.

Winchester Model 1897

The militarized version of the Winchester Model 1897 shotgun appears in several levels, including in the bar in a mansion occupied by a high-ranking German officer, of all places. In the level "Yard by Yard", an elderly civilian, possibly a WW1 veteran, appears wielding one of these weapons, seemingly wanting to join forces with you, though is soon killed by a German sniper, using the weapon to point out the direction the fatal shots came from before dying. For some reason, the weapon holds 8 shells in this game, despite the real weapon carrying 6 shells, 5 in the tube, and 1 in the chamber. The Winchester 1897 Trench can be also used in Operation Rapunzel.

M9A1 "Bazooka"

The M9A1 "Bazooka" appears in the game as an anti-tank/heavy weapon in the game. Contrary to the real-life version, it can be effectively operated by a single person, which at best would be highly impractical in a combat situation. It also is more effective as an anti-personnel weapon than its' original anti-tank role, taking several rounds to destroy the Panzer IV's present in the game. One can also be found in a stockpile of captured Allied weapons in a German base near the end of the game.

Short Magazine Lee-Enfield

The Short Magazine Lee-Enfield rifle, particularly the No. 4 Mk I variant, appears in the hands of British Army soldiers in the "Arnhem Knights" level, and are exclusive to the computer-controlled soldiers and not available for use by the player. Though, when picked up provide shotgun shells for the Winchester Model 1897.

Sten SMG

The 9mm Sten SMG appears in the "Arnhem Knights" level in the hands of British Army soldiers, particularly the squad leader, Master Sgt. Kelso (an anachronism, as there is no rank of Master Sergeant in the British Army, Kelso would be a Warrant Officer Class 2), encountered at the start of the level. Like the Lee-Enfield, the Sten is exclusive to the AI British soldiers and not available for player use.

Mk 2 Hand Grenade

The Mk 2 hand grenade is one of two HE-Frag hand grenades available in the game. Like the other U.S.-made weapons, it is generally available where U.S. Army forces are present. the player must take care when using this as the Germans will occasionally try to catch the grenade and throw or kick it back at you before it explodes. For some reason the grenade will explode on impact if it hits an enemy.

M18 Smoke Grenade

In the first level of the game, set during the D-Day invasion of Normandy, the player is tasked with marking German bunkers on the beach as targets for Allied destroyers, the player using M18 smoke grenades emitting red smoke to mark the bunkers (though the player must immediately evacuate the bunker after deploying the smoke grenade lest they be killed by the incoming shells).

German Weapons

Walther P38

The Walther P38 appears as the standard-issue 9mm sidearm of German soldiers and scientists in the game, and is generally found later on in the game where German weapons are more prevalent. During the D-Day landing mission, the player can surprise a German soldier in the bunkers, the soldier at first acting as if he's surrendering before suddenly going for his holstered P38, though has trouble getting it out of the holster, giving the player ample opportunity to shoot him.

MP40 SMG

The MP40 SMG appears in the game as the typical SMG of the German forces in the game, it fires at 550 RPM from a 32 round detachable box magazine firing the 9mm Parabellum cartridge.

Karabiner 98k

The Karabiner 98k rifle appears as the standard-issue infantry rifle of the German forces in the game. Like the Lee-Enfields and Stens of the British Army, it is only available for use by computer-controlled German characters. Scoped versions can be seen in the Nijmegen Bridge level used by the snipers. They are not to be confused with the Gewehr 43 as they make the same sound when fired, but after each shot, the sniper has to pause to cycle the bolt, this can be used as an achilles heel, you can time your shots, while armed with the G43 wait for the enemy to fire a shot, then immediatly pop up and shoot him while he's cycling the bolt, or simply wait until you hear him fire 5 shots, then kill him while he's reloading.

Gewehr 43

The Gewehr 43 appears in the game fitted with a ZF 4 scope and used as a sniper rifle by German forces, particularly in later levels of the game. Accuracy is comparable to the M1903 Springfield, though it has the advantage of a faster rate of fire, quicker reload, and increased ammo capacity. Note: the real Gewehr 43 has significantly less accuracy at range than the 1903 bolt action rifle, and isnt nearly as reliable, even as a basic semi-automatic rifle, its less than desirable, especially when compared to superior made and effective rifles like the M1 Garand.

Sturmgewehr 44

The Sturmgewehr 44 appears in the game as the "Stg44". Unlike the real-life version, it can only fire in full auto mode with no semi-automatic mode. It operates similarly to the B.A.R., but has a higher rate of fire and magazine capacity. It is generally considered to be one of the most effective small arms in the game, and appears in the later levels where German weapons are prevalent. At the climax of the game the main antagonist, Baron Rudolph Ulbricht Von Strumgeist, can be seen armed with one of these weapons when he faces off with Patterson.

MG34 Machine Gun

In several levels, the player will have to engage and destroy Panzer IV tanks, which in addition to the cannon, are also armed with MG34 machine guns mounted in the front of the hull. It is the only machine gun in the game that the player cannot commandeer.

MG42 Machine Gun

The MG42 machine gun appears frequently in the game as a fixed weapon in machine gun nests and guard towers, even mounted on an armored train in the level "Riding out the Storm". Just like the M1919 machine gun, manning one will trigger a swarm of enemies to come forth to attack, though you again have the benefit of unlimited ammo with which to counter the threat. The MG42 is also erroneously shown being capable of destroying tanks; a few seconds' sustained fire being enough to decimate a Panzer IV tank, something the real-life MG42 could never achieve, other than scratch up the paint.

Panzerschreck

The Panzerschreck appears in the game as the German counterpart to the American Bazooka. One drawback it has compared to the Bazooka is that the blast shield obscures your vision and can make it difficult to effectively engage targets at times. Another, like the Bazooka, it takes a lot of shots to successfully destroy a Panzer IV tank, even though the real life Panzerschrek fires the horrifyingly lethal 88mm shell, more than capable of taking out any tank in existance during WWII in a single hit.

Model 24 Stielhandgranate

The Model 24 Stielhandgranate appears in the game as the German counterpart to the Allied Mk 2 hand grenade. Just like the Mk 2, some enemies will occasionally try to toss or kick the grenade back at you before it explodes. Sometimes a skilled shooter can wound an enemy as he's preparing to throw one of these grenades, causing him to drop it and kill himself and any other nearby enemies when the grenade detonates.
