Everyman's War is a 2009 war film directed by Thad Smith. It stars Cole Carson as Don Smith, a young man drafted into the 94th Infantry Division during World War Two and sent into combat in France and Germany with a Heavy Machine Gun Section.
The following weapons were used in the film Everyman's War:
Rifles
M1903A4 Springfield
An M1903A4 Springfield sniper rifle is used by sharpshooter Pvt. Briggs (Aaron Glass) in the first battle.
M1 Garand
Despite being the standard-issue combat rifle for the U.S. Armed Forces during World War Two, the M1 Garand is seen scarcely throughout the movie. This is historically accurate, for weapons squads such as the one depicted in the film would normally be issued lighter weapons such as the M1 Carbine. The most notable user is Pvt. Karl Heinrich (Brian Julian), the section ammunition carrier.
M1 Carbine
The M1 Carbine is used by two men on the machine gun section, Pvt. Anthony Benedetto (Sean McGrath) and Pvt. Robert Fuller (Eric Martin Reid).
Karabiner 98k
German soldiers in the film use the Karabiner 98k as their main battle rifle.
Gewehr 43
During the final battle of the film, a German soldier can be seen using a Gewehr 43 Semiautomatic rifle.
Submachine Guns
M1A1 Thompson
Several American GI's can be seen using M1A1 Thompson Submachine Guns in battle with the German forces.
MP40
Several German soldiers and Officers carry and use the German MP40.
Machine Guns
Browning M1917
As Heavy Machine Gunners, the GI's of the Section depicted onscreen operate a Browning M1917 in battle against the Germans.
Browning M1919
Towards the end of the film, American GI's are seen with a Browning M1919 in a defensive position inside a townhouse.
Browning M2HB
A Browning M2HB is mounted on a US Army Jeep transporting Cpl. Starks (Mike Prosser) and Pvt. Don Smith (Cole Carson) to the front lines.
Bren Gun
A bipod-mounted Bren Gun is manned in a defensive position by Maurice (Nico Izambard), a member of the French Maquis.
MG34
Several German soldiers use the MG34 Light Machine Gun, the earlier version of the infamous MG42.
MG42
The MG42 is used by numerous German soldiers in battle.
Sidearms
Colt M1911A1
The Colt M1911A1 is carried by the Machine Gunners, in particular Cpl. Starks (Mike Prosser) and Pvt. (later Cpl.) Don Smith (Cole Carson).
Makarov PM
A Makarov PM, thrown into a river by a surrendering German Officer, is used by a German Prisoner of War (Micah Klatt) to commit suicide. Although the Makarov was not standard issue for German Officers, it's presence in the film is not unrealistic; it could have been easily taken as a souvenir from the Eastern Front. For instance, many German soldiers picked up PPSh-41 Submachine Guns from the Russians.
Grenades
Mk 2 Hand Grenade
A Mk 2 Hand Grenade is seen in Maurice's (Nico Izambard) foxhole and on his belt.
Model 24 Stielhandgranate
The Model 24 Stielhandgranate, better known as the 'Potato Masher', is used by a German soldier in the climatic battle.
