The Quiet Earth is a lesser known science fiction film directed by Geoff Murphey. Made in New Zealand in 1985, the film centers around with a scientist who is part of the mysterious "Project Flashlight", but wakes up one morning to find that he is the one of the last few people on earth due to a strange side-effect of the project. He meets other survivors and tries desperately to find why the earth was abandoned and when it will happen again.
The following firearms appear in the film The Quiet Earth:
Double Barreled Shotgun
While Zac Hobson (Bruno Lawrence) slowly starts to lose his sanity due to isolation, he plays around with a 12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun in his commandeered mansion.
Mossberg 500
At some point in the film, Zac ditches his Doubled Barreled Shotgun, and uses a Mossberg 500 for the rest of the film.
Smith & Wesson Model 27
When Zac first meets another survivor, Joanne (Alison Routledge), she aims a Smith & Wesson Model 27 at him.
Uzi
Api (Pete Smith) keeps an Uzi when first meeting Zac.
M16 Variant
Joanne takes some kind of variant of the M16 assault rifle from Api's truck to break up a fight between him and Zac.
