I am a long time gun collector and handgun hobbyist. I have been a connoisseur and student of 3rd generation Smith & Wesson handguns for over a decade with an appreciation for their design and variations. I buy, sell and collect 3rd generation Smiths on a regular basis and shoot them almost as often. My favorite pistol design for civilian concealed carry (other than the S&W 3913 series) are the blow-back pistol designs found in handguns such as the Bersa 380, Makarov, Walther PP and PPK. When it comes to rifles, I think the greatest rifle of all time is the indestructible AK-47 and its variants.

Other interests include many I.T. specialties such as network security, video and music encoding/streaming and web services. I have servers co-located in midwest data centers that I use to pursue hobbies such as informatics databases and algorithms, Silverlight streaming projects and VPN services.

Lastly, my advice to the IMFDB community, please look to see whether a S&W 3rd gen gun has an alloy or stainless frame before you attempt to identify it. If I see one more 3913 wrongly identified as a .45 ACP model or a 5903 identified as a 5906, I think my brain will implode.
