Scotland, Pa. is a 2001 black comedy written and directed by Billy Morrissette, adapting Shakespeare's play Macbeth for a more modern setting, with Lord and Lady Macbeth replaced by diner cooks Joe (James LeGros) and Pat McBeth (Maura Tierney) who plan to gain control of the diner they work in by murdering their boss. The setting is shifted to the small town of Scotland, Pennsylvania in 1975.

Anthony "Banko" Banconi (Kevin Corrigan) carries a Winchester Model 70 during the hunting trip.

Ed (John Cariani), one of the only deputies in Scotland, PA, carries a Colt Python which Mac (James LeGros) later uses.

Lt. Ernie McDuff (Christopher Walken) carries a snubnose revolver that appears to be a Smith & Wesson Model 36. Mac (James LeGros) gets his hands on it during the finale.
Single Action Army
During the opening credits, scenes from a 1972 episode of McCloud are shown, with Sam McCloud (Dennis Weaver) chasing a thug with his Single Action Army. The episode in question is called "The Park Avenue Rustlers".
