The following firearms were used in the fifth season of the NBC television series Hunter:
Handguns
Beretta 92FS
Beginning with season five, LAPD Det. Sgt. Rick Hunter (Fred Dryer) carries a Beretta 92FS in a brown leather holster on his left side with a spare magazine in a leather pouch on his right side. With the show taking an intentional step away from the "Harry Callahan" motif toward a much more intentional posture in identifying the characters of the show serving with the LAPD (i.e. permissions secured to use the LAPD badge and other symbols), it was appropriate to arm the main character with either a Beretta 92FS or Smith and Wesson 5900 series pistol. By this time of season 5's start, the LAPD had begun transitioning to semi-automatic pistols for its officers. Both the Beretta and the S&W would be appropriate.
Smith & Wesson Model 60 Snub
For the first time in the series, Hunter's partner Det. Sgt. Dee Dee McCall (Stepfanie Kramer) switches to a revolver from a semi-automatic as her main sidearm when she begins carrying a snubnose .357 Magnum Smith & Wesson Model 60.
Smith & Wesson Model 36 Snub
When Hunter and McCall go to a murder scene in "Heir of Neglect" (5.01), they come across teenager Danny Sanderson (Chad Allen) holding a snubnose Smith & Wesson Model 36, described as a ".38" by Hunter. In "The Baby Game" (5.02), private investigator Dick Frost (Wayne Tippit) carries a snubnose Model 36, taken away by Hunter (Fred Dryer). McCall (Stepfanie Kramer) fires a Model 36 while on the police range in "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished" (5.06).
Smith & Wesson Model 10
Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolvers are seen in the holsters of many uniformed LAPD officers throughout the show, including Sgt. Jack Knight (David J. Partington) in "The Baby Game" (5.02). McCall (Stepfanie Kramer) takes an unloaded Model 10 from a wounded security guard at a free health clinic in "Heir of Neglect" (5.01). The court officers in "Presumed Guilty" (5.05) carry Model 10s, one of which is grabbed by Tommy Orlowski (Conrad Dunn) before Hunter takes him down.
Smith & Wesson Model 19
A Taggart Aeronautics security guard in "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished" (5.06) carries a Smith & Wesson Model 19.
Colt Trooper Mk III
Samuel Rhodes (J.A. Preston) carries a Colt Trooper Mk III in "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished" (5.06), which Hunter (Fred Dryer) takes and pockets.
Submachine Guns
MAC-10
One of the thugs Hunter chases in "Dead on Target, Pt. 1" (5.03) carries a MAC-10. Sandy (Jesse Welles) also uses one at the end of the episodes to fire twenty six rounds of 9x19 mm (as reported by the M.E.) into Theo.
Heckler & Koch HK94A2
One of Steven Stag's guards on his ranch carries a Heckler & Koch HK94A2 in "Dead on Target, Pt. 2" (5.04).
Rifles
M16A2
The Marines at Russell Fane's funeral in "Dead on Target, Pt. 1" (5.03) carry M16A2 rifles.
Shotguns
Ithaca 37
During the opening scene of "Dead on Target, Pt. 1" (5.03), Hunter (Fred Dryer) chases two thugs through a stadium with an Ithaca 37.
