Law & Order was a crime procedural series that aired on NBC from 1990 to 2010. Each episode in the series followed a particular case from the perspective of the police that investigated the crime to the district attorneys who prosecuted the case. Despite several cast changes over its two decades, the show endured to be tied for the longest running drama in television history. The show would also have several direct spinoffs including Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Law & Order: Trial by Jury, and Law & Order: Los Angeles.
The following weapons were used in the series Law & Order:
Glock 19
The Glock 19 is the main sidearm carried by the majority of NYPD detectives on the show. The regular detective seen carrying the Glock was Det. Rey Curtis (Benjamin Bratt). The other detectives seen carrying the Glock include Detectives Ed Green (Jesse L. Martin), Nick Falco (Michael Imperioli), Nina Cassidy (Milena Govich), Cyrus Lupo (Jeremy Sisto) and Kevin Bernard (Anthony Anderson).
Smith & Wesson Model 36
Detective Lennie Briscoe (Jerry Orbach) can be seen using a .38 Smith and Wesson Model 36 during his time on the show. As an older veteran, Briscoe would have been allowed to "grandfather" in his revolver when the NYPD made the switch to semi-automatic pistols in 1993.
Then i believe that it is safe to assume that that is the type of weapon Logan carries when he transfers to MCS in Criminal Intent. Except for the episode, "To The Bone" in season 5, where clearly he fired from a Glock when he shot that cop.
Kahr K9
Can be seen wielded by Henry Young (Bambadjan Bamba) when he takes Det. Falco "hostage" in Falco's apartment in the episode "Hindsight" (16.21). It is later revealed that the gun was not loaded, and Henry was involved with the police in an attempt to get his mother to confess to his girlfriend's murder.
Smith & Wesson revolver
Detective Joe Fontana (Dennis Farina) carries a nickel-plated revolver as his weapon. It looks to be a Smith and Wesson Model 19 with a 2-inch barrel.
Ok, I lied. It's a 3rd-Generation Colt Detective Special or a Cobra
I doubt it's a Colt DS or Cobra. I recall on the few occasions when Fontana drew his weapon, it looked pretty hefty, something with at least a three inch barrel. From the looks of it, probably a .357 of some sort. And it was blued, not nickel plated. You see a really good shot of it in that episode where he sticks his gun in a perp's mouth to get him to tell him where a missing kid is. The picture below looks about right.
The gun was an S$W M19 with a 2.5" barrel.
I doubt it's a M19. In the season 16 episode, "Kingmaker", you get a decent side-view of the gun. It had a different barrel profile then a M19, something closer to a M36. But I could be wrong.
It's a S&W model 19 snubbie. You get a very clear view of it in the episode "Red Ball". You can clearly see the shape of the ejector shroud, and the adjustable sights. --TheDon 00:14, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
