Did anyone else notice that when Hogarth tapes the flashlight to the BB gun it blocks the barrel? I can't remember if he ever fires it, but it seemed odd to me. - Alabastor Twob

1911?
That gun looks absolutely nothing like a Colt, other than it's a semiauto. It has about as much in common with a 1911 as the 10mm pistol from Fallout 3. Looks more like a highly anachronistic Desert Eagle to me; it even seems to have a slide mounted safety. --That's the Way It's Done (talk) 03:41, 24 January 2015 (EST)

This was a good movie, I'm gonna have to watch it again. Didn't quite like the whole view on guns though. - Gunmaster45

Would you prefer a spring-loaded showerhead? I think the view on guns fits the general, not-too-bright ambient of the movie. But of course, that's just my opinion. --83.78.166.123 17:33, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
The "ambient" of the movie? What is that, exactly? And I don't think the movie was anti-gun in any way. It was about the what the people were doing with them. The Iron Giant just didn't want to be a tool of destruction, a "gun" to him was a representation of that; in his limited knowledge of the world around him.--Spikemonkey 22:40, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
