The Accuracy International Arctic Warfare series of rifles can be seen in the following films, television series, and video games used by the following actors:
NOTE: IMFDB really needs someone who is good with the AW rifles and can tell the more subtle variants apart from each other - i.e. L96 from AW and AWM, AWP from AICS, etc. This page was crap before, treating every AW variant as if it were the L96 (which is the British service version) and eschewing the other variants. However, I don't know enough about the platform to tell them apart, and distinguish between them all in the movies where they appear. So anyone who wants to help out, please do. Thanks. -MT2008

Accuracy International Arctic Warfare
Based on the PM (Precision Marksman), or L96A1 as it is known in the British Military, this model is the basis for the Arctic Warfare series of tactical rifles and is currently produced in calibers .243 Win and 7.62x51mm NATO and normally fitted with a 660mm (26") match grade barrel for accurate long range performance. The .243 Win has a 1 in 10 twist and the 7.62x51mm NATO has a 1 in 12.
The 7.62x51mm NATO version AW is fitted with a muzzle brake which serves to reduce recoil and muzzle flip. The AW is normally supplied with a 10-round box magazine. Both versions are housed in either olive drab or black stock panels and black metalwork. Butt length can be adjusted by fitting spacers to suit the shooter.
