Long time since I watched this movie, but do anybody remember what type of rifle the Chinese army (could be the prototype Nationalist Revolutionary Army or just some warlord army) was carrying during the confrontation with the U.S sailors in the city where they end up being humiliated and pelted with rotten vegetables in the street by Chinese civilians? The rifle seems to look like bolt rifle like Arisaka rifle or Mauser. -- Han 24 Sept 2010

The deck gun is a US Standard Naval Deck Gun 3-in/23-cal DP (Dual Purpose) Surface/AA.  The Gun is typically mounted on the Four Piper Flush Deck Destroyers and on some classes of submarines.  It was also the main armament for a WW1 Subchaser class.
