Battle of the Bulge is the 1965 World War II film that follows the events that occurred during the German winter offensive of 1944. Like a lot of World War II films of the time, this film features an all-star cast including Henry Fonda, Telly Savalas, Charles Bronson, and Robert Shaw. While the film does feature several impressive tank battle sequences, many of the events and characters in the film were fictionalized for dramatic purposes.
The following firearms can be seen in the film Battle of the Bulge:
M1 Garand
The M1 Garand was the most common weapon among US infantrymen during WWII. The M1 Garand is carried by numerous US soldiers throughout the film.
M1 Garand (sniper scope)
An M1 Garand fitted with a scope is used by Sgt. Duquesne (George Montgomery), possibly a M1C or D Garand.
M1 Carbine
The M1 Carbine is seen briefly held by a German infiltrator disguised as a US soldier.
M3 Grease Gun
The M3 Grease Gun is the most common submachine gun carried by US infantrymen during WWII and is seen used by Sgt. Duquesne and Lt. Weaver.
Browning M1919.30 Caliber Machine Gun
M1919 A4 is seen mounted on the US tanks and is fired handheld by Sgt. Guffy (Telly Savalas).
Thompson M1A1
The Thompson rarely seen used by American infantryman.
M20 Bazooka
Wolenski (Charles Bronson) uses an M20 Bazooka with shield to damage a German Tiger Tank. If these are indeed M20 Super Bazookas then they are anachronistic. The M20s were not issued until the Korean War (1950).
Colt M1911A1
Seen in the holster of US officers and used by Lt. Weaver (James MacArthur).
Browning M2 Aircraft
The Browning M2 can be seen mounted on US Army vehicles.
Browning Automatic Rifle
The Browning Automatic Rifle can be seen used by American Military personnel.
M7 rifle grenade
Seen fitted to several M1 Garand rifles.
Sten
Sturmgewehr 44
Used by a German soldier and this is the rifle that Lt. Col. Kiley (Henry Fonda) examined from a captured German patrol while he was checking the personnel in a bunker.
