The following guns were used in the television series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit:
Glock 19
2nd and 3rd Generation Glock 19s are used by the majority of NYPD detectives in the Special Victims Unit including Detective Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni), Detective Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay), Detective (later Sergeant) John Munch (Richard Belzer), Detective Odafin "Fin" Tutuola (Ice-T), Detective Brian Cassidy (Dean Winters), Detective Chester Lake (Adam Beach), and Captain Donald Cragen (Dann Florek). Uniformed NYPD Officers and FBI Agents are seen using Glock 19s as well. For some reason every time a Glock is drawn in the show a hammer-cocking sound is made even though Glocks are hammerless.
SIG-Sauer P232
Used by Tony Degalio (Michael Luggio) (Season 3, Episode 19) to shoot Judge Thornburg. Identified as a .380 semiautomatic, Det. Benson picks it up with a pen as evidence out of an abandoned van.
SIG Sauer P228
A SIG-Sauer P228 is carried by Detective Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) in the Season 10 Episode "PTSD".
Heckler & Koch P7M8
A female serial killer in the episode "Chameleon" uses a Heckler & Koch P7M8
Browning Hi-Power
A Browning Hi-Power appears in the Season 9 Episode "Inconceivable", being used by a man named Scott Ryland (Kevin Kane Jr.) to shoot James Grall (Mark Moses). It's later discovered at Ryland's apartment and identified as a "9mm Browning" by Det. Stabler.
Smith & Wesson Model 36
A Smith & Wesson Model 36 is seen in the episode "Grief", used by a victim to commit suicide with, and is identified as a "Smith & Wesson Model 36" by CSU.
Smith & Wesson 5946
Ray Bevins (Joe Morton) uses a Smith & Wesson 5946 in the episode "Grief".
SIG-Sauer P220
A SIG-Sauer P220 appears in the episode "Signature", and is seen used by FBI Agent Cooper (Erika Christensen).
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
The NYPD ESU Officers throughout the series use Heckler & Koch MP5A3s as one of their main weapons. They are fitted with various attachments, such as scopes or tactical flashlights.
Colt M4A1 Carbine
Some of the NYPD ESU Officers use M4A1 Carbines throughout the series. They are fitted with various attachments.
Ithaca 37
An NYPD ESU Officer in "Signature" is seen carrying an Ithaca 37.
