I Googled the title and found a download link. Does web distribution count?

Revision as of 01:22, 6 September 2010

Anime started on YT the first episode is on AIR http://www.youtube.com/IDAentertainment

now i have a chinese Subbed first episode --Kin93 02:30, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Looking a lot better now, will be switching from "noeffort" to "incomplete" status, as it still needs links, weapon images, and descriptions of the weapons' usages. Orca1 9904 03:51, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

I saw a trailer for this on MGSForums a while back and it looked awesome... if only the cast wasn't composed of talking animals. I outgrew that stuff years ago. Spartan198 05:03, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Not to be a party pooper, but where is this listed? IMDB? Anything? Again it can still be worked on but it will not be formally categorized until it is officially recognized. MoviePropMaster2008 05:06, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
Here are some anime authority websites, not sure if it'll substitute for IMDB. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com.au/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=11444, http://myanimelist.net/anime/6280/Cat_Shit_One and http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=6473 PraetorianD 14:05, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Okay. that's interesting. Cats with firearms. --Jcordell 14:46, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Actually rabbits. It's a pun on a Japanese word, rabbit in Japanese is usagi or USA GI. PraetorianD 15:09, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Ahhh. You learn something new everyday. --Jcordell 16:36, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Again where is this airing?

I need help here. Youtube videos don't count. Where is this airing? What network? WEBISODES DO NOT COUNT! And self sold DVDs from the makers don't count either. I only stress this to make sure that in the future 'FAN MADE' or amateur stuff doesn't qualify to be here either, even though this looks to have some money behind it. MoviePropMaster2008 19:09, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure that it's on Japanese TV atm. Keep in mind that the idea for the show is based off a manga from a few years ago. The main difference is the war. In the show it's the middle east. In the manga, it was Vietnam. I know that the manga was quite well researched for the weapons and tactics. All in all a good read. I hope that the show lives up to the manga. --Slipstick

Okay show me proof. All I see are webisodes, or DVD that can be purchased from the makers. IN the past IMFDB has deleted content that fulfilled ALL OF THAT. Actual Broadcast Network Japanese TV or Paid Cable TV (like HBO) will count. Thanks. MoviePropMaster2008 18:51, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
I found a Wikipedia article about this series here: [1]. Hope this helps. I can't believe that this is all about rabbits and animals using guns. It's kinda childish. - Kenny99 18:54, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
I read it. So you're telling me that this show is ONLY SEEN on the internet on Youtube? Like the fan films my neighborhood KIDS have all made and uploaded? I've said again and again "Webisodes" do not count! WTF? This article is slated for DELETION.MoviePropMaster2008 19:02, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
- Save confirmation of whether it's actually broadcast on air anywhere, I'm with MPM on this one. Shame though, there's pretty good weapon detail on the animation. Still, if anyone asks me, I'd have to side with deletion at this point. StanTheMan 02:00, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
Hey Remember those Internet flash animation shorts "Happy Tree Friends" where all the characters died horrible gruesome deaths? A bunch of my friends bought the DVD, but even if that had guns (which I think only one webisode did) I would not consider that a 'widely distributed product to the general public'. But then things changed. What made it qualify (and get an IMDB listing) was that ... I can't believe I'm saying this ... but a bunch of the webisodes were strung together and actually got a theatrical release in FRANCE!!!!! Gotta love those french! It was also shown on the G4 channel and SPIKE TV. Ultimately that project which started as a web based webisode, creator distributed product, got actual release, per the rules of IMFDB.  :) If that happens or is scheduled to happen here, then the title qualifies. But until I get proof that it does, than the page is on track for deletion. MoviePropMaster2008 03:07, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

Why is anyone listening to you MPM? You DO NOT sound like a very stable individual. Maybe suicide is the only answer?

You sound suspiciously like a couple of other douchebags who have been banned here before. (suggesting self inflicted death is a common theme with you). I am enforcing the rules, which is what mods do, not listen to pathetic posts by people who are not even worthwhile contributors to this site. MPM
Because he's an admin, and laying down the law is what admins do. You're new here, so we forgive your ignorance. --funkychinaman 15:30, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Being new is no excuse for the FIRST thing you do is insult a Mod and question the rules of the site. Sorta a douchebag thing to do, don't you think? :) MPM
I've been watching this thread, and is the lack of airing and common distribution the only thing holding this thing up? Because the Metal Gear Solid movie was fan-made, and according to wikipedia, only available online as well. This at least looks like it was done professionally. The MGS movie does have an IMDb page, which this does not (so far) but if we're just talking distribution, they're in the same boat, aren't they? --funkychinaman 15:30, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Self distribution CAN actually get you on IMDB, but you have to self distribute through someone like Amazon.com, etc. Self made titles can achieve 'public accessibility' status if anyone can either view or purchase it via recognized commercial channels. I have many friends who have created stunning CGI shorts (with weapons) that won't be listed here. (at least until they are distributed). It's all about keeping out the backyard home videos and having consistent rules with which to do so. :) MoviePropMaster2008 15:57, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Isn't there an exception when it comes to games that if a mod is well done and popular it can be added here? Like Zombie Panic: Source? Shouldn't there be something like that with anime? Because this is well done enough in my opinion.--FIVETWOSEVEN 04:04, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
Nope. This is not a Mod to an existing Commercial Game Title. This is a 'movie' which is being self distributed. It does NOT qualify. This MUST be the rule for films/shorts/features/etc. to keep all those films which are 'home made' essentially from polluting the site. Thanks. MoviePropMaster2008 04:46, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
I was thinking more like a mod can approve and not someone just upload something.--FIVETWOSEVEN 12:04, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, but being well done doesn't merit an exception. I made the rules clear. If this does not get distribution or notice of one relatively soon, away it goes. Are we going to get into a circular arguement here? Just curious. MoviePropMaster2008 17:04, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
I just think that exceptions should be made. Isn't Combat Arms self distributed?--FIVETWOSEVEN 18:59, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
Now you're starting to get Aggravating FIVETWOSEVEN, Combat Arms is a VIDEO GAME. You keep on bringing up video games. Cat Shit One is not a video game. The rules allow for specific VG Mods to be added but any other visual media must be publicly distributed through accepted commercial channels or they don't qualify. I don't police the VGs so I don't know what is available or not, but I DO POLICE the movies, television, sections with some attention to anime and some to animation. This counts as computer generated animation like a Pixar film. And it doesn't qualify. This is the last time I'm going to go around on this topic. MoviePropMaster2008 00:11, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

Anyone ever tried to check Wikipedia page? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apocalypse_Meow). I know this page is about manga, which is not the animation we're talking about, but there is a brief explanation of this aninmaiton in "Media" section. I hope this helps --zzang1847 23:45, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

Wikipedia isn't an accepted commercial channel for distribution. Spartan198 16:53, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
