The Racketeer was filmed in 1929 with Robert Armstrong playing a mobster Mahlon Keane. Rhoda Philbrooke played by Carole Lombard makes a deal with the Devil in the form of slick-talking New York mobster Mahlon Keane. If she agrees at marry him, he'll give her money to help down and out concert pianist Tony Vaughan. Due to the degrading of the master over time this film is grainy.
