The following guns were used in the film The Mummy
Colt 1911
In the beginning of the film, Rick O'Connell (Brendon Fraser), among other weapons, uses two Colt 1911s to battle a group of Med Jai. Rick also uses a 1911 later in the film, most notably preparing it on the boat to Hamunaptra. Also Mr.Burns using Colt M1911.
Winchester 1897
Rick O'Connell (Brendon Fraser) uses a Winchester Model 1897 shotgun throughout the film.
Mauser C96
Many of the Medjai who attack the boat to Hamunaptra are armed with dual Mauser C96s.
Chamelot-Delvigne Revolver
Rick O'Connell (Brendon Fraser) uses a pair of Chamelot-Delvigne revolvers throughout the film.
French Lebel Rifle
In the beginning of the film, Rick O'Connell (Brendon Fraser) and the other members of The French Foreign Legion use French Lebel Rifles.
- [edit] I'm pretty sure they are not Lebel rifles. Lebel 1886 rifles had a ten shot tube magazine and O'Connell and his men are all firing single shot and reloading. I believe they are Gras M1874/80 French service rifles chambered for the 11mm cartridge. Or perhaps the previous 1866/74 version.
- [edit] They are in fact M1886 Lebel rifles. Modern commercial ammunition, which would include blank ammunition, is not designed the same way as the original 8mm Lebel ammunition. It does not include the safety mechanism, or rather groove, that allowed the Lebel ammunition to be loaded in the tube magazine, without setting off the primer of the cartridge immediately before it. Therefore, for movie purposes, they load the bullets one at a time. If you look at the way Lebels are loaded in the movie Legionnaire, you will notice the same precautions used by film makers.
- [edit] One last point is that many shots were fired before we see O'Connell loading in rounds one at a time. When you are all out of ammo and the enemy is right on top of you, you load and fire as quick as you can. I dont think there was time to load the rifle to full capacity, so the expedient thing to do would be to load a round and fire as quick as you could. But I believe the 2nd poster's explanation is indeed correct - I'm only trying to explain a possible reason for loading one at a time in that 'historical' situation.
- [edit] Quote from "Modren Small Arms" by Major Myatt: "...until the full capacity of eight had been reached. The contents of the magazine could if necessary be kept in reserve by a cut-off device, allowing the rifle to be used as a single-loader until a more rapid burst of fire was required."
Colt New Service
Mr. Daniels (Cory Johnson) carries and uses two Colt New Service revolvers.
Colt Single Action Army
Mr. Henderson (Stephen Dunham) uses a Colt Single Action Army.
Mauser Rifle
The Arabs attacking The French Foreign Legion in the beginning of the film are seen using a variety of different manufactured Mauser rifles from different countries. Visible are some M1903 Turkish Mauser and some (anachronistic) M1938 and M38/46 Short Rifles. Some of the Arab Horsemen are seen holding Mauser Karabiner 98 (98K) rifles, which is clearly anachronistic, since the 98Ks were not developed until 1935.
Lewis Machine Gun
Rick O'Connell (Brendan Fraser) uses a Lewis Gun mounted on an airplane to shoot at the face of the sandstorm that Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo) creates. When the airplane crashes, Ardeth Bey (Oded Fehr) unmounts the gun, and uses it against Imhotep's mummified priests in Hamunaptra.
Lee-Enfield SMLE
The Lee-Enfield rifle was extensively used in the film in the hands of British troops, the Arabs attacking the French Foreign Legion in the beginning of the film, and in the hands of the Medjai.
Others FireArms
Also we can see Double Derringer (Jonathan), Webley Mk.V (Burns) and Smith & Wesson Military & Police (Beny).
