Superman II is the 1980 sequel to Superman. Both Superman I and II were filmed simultaneously, but production conflicts led to Superman director Richard Donner leaving the film and the movie was completed with new scenes under the direction of Richard Lester. In 2006, Richard Donner and editor Michael Thau worked to restore as much of Richard Donner's original vision as possible with newly discovered footage. This version of the film was released on video under the title: "Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut". Many alternate sequences were restored as well as the appearance of Superman's father Jor-El (Marlon Brando).
