The following weapons appear in the film Independence Day:
Beretta M92FS
The Beretta M92FS appears in the film in the hands of U.S. Secret Service agents and U.S. military personnel. The Secret Service can be seen volley-firing them to kill an alien as it is telepathically attacking President Thomas J. Whitmore (Bill Pullman). In another scene, Air Force Major Mitchell (Adam Baldwin) fires one at a captured alien fighter when David Levinson (Jeff Goldblum) is demonstrating the computer virus he designed to neutralize the aliens' technology, the first shot ricocheting off the fighters' shields and the second shot hitting a coke can placed on the hull of the fighter when David uploads the virus.
Not the M92FS, there is a close up of Adam Baldwin's Beretta when he fires 3 rounds into the alien, and it has a rounded trigger guard, so it is actually the 92SB variant.
- You are correct. However, the 92SB is only used in that one close-up shot of the gun being fired. As best I can tell, regular 92Fs are used in every other scene. In fact, if you look closely when he first raise the gun (before the close-up), it seems to have a squared trigger guard!
Browning Hi-Power
When the alien ships arrive on Earth, a Browning Hi-Power can be seen in a graphic on a TV news broadcast asking Los Angeles residents not to fire on the spacecraft for fear of starting an interstellar war, clearly oblivious to the aliens' already hostile intentions.
Double-Barreled Shotgun
When David Levinson goes to pick up his father Julius Levinson (Judd Hirsch) in New York City, Julius comes to the door brandishing a double-barreled shotgun, thinking David is one of the many looters running rampant as a result of the panic created by the aliens' arrival.
M60 Machine Gun
In several scenes, Humvees can be seen armed with M60 machine guns mounted on them, primarily at Area 51.
H&K MP5A3
In several scenes, U.S. military personnel at Area51 can be seen with Heckler & Koch MP5A3's, notably when Captain Steven Hiller (Will Smith) arrives at Area51 with an alien fighter pilot he captured, and following President Whitmore's "Independence Day" speech prior to the final battle, waving the weapons in the air and cheering.
M16A2 Rifle
U.S. military personnel in several scenes can be seen carrying M16A2 rifles in several scenes, most notably during the attacks on Marine Corps Air Station El Toro and Area51.
